Your previous post explained it quite clearly, I was just asking why it is being shown in two places using two different calculation methods.

The account pages seem to have been revamped recently, so surely this should/could have been picked up and resolved.

At least we all know what one is correct now.

    Morning James, thanks for that.

I too think I may have confused the two (OK I now KNOW I confused the two) so humbly apologise for panicking.

    See post 1641.

Posting this for interest really, more than anything else.

Internally, we've got two projects. There's Brightview Phase 1, which covered the integration of MAAF customer details into our administrative systems and Brightview Phase 2.

BV2 is mainly a number of fixes for things that we couldn't fit into the first phase. There's various fixes that are being applied sorted out little bits and pieces, such as the GB/GiB discrepancies, so hopefully that should be sorted out before too long.

No need to apologise at all. It was an easy mistake to make :)

Why don't you monitor your own usage and then you would not need to rely on non existent warning e-mails from MAAF? see this thread here for details.

I do normally monitor my own usage, but if you had read my whole post I've been having problems getting on there for a while... and when I did try I gave up. I don't rely on the warning emails, was just surprised when I didn't receive one this time.

And thanks James, I ended up deleting all my cookies because when I went through the list of cookies and Internet files I couldn't find the specific one for the site... It works now though, I'll just have to build up my cookies again. With regards to the usage, March isn't even showing on there now, so not sure why that is... I'll see what happens, it is quite possible I went slightly over, so I am happy to pay the extra if I did. :)

What problems did you have when you moved. I'm moving in the next few months and still trying to decide whether to move to a new provider before then as I am out of contract.

I'm not sure who was at fault when I moved in, but I told MAAF I was moving about 4 weeks before I actually moved. Everything seemed to go smoothly until the broadband wasn't live after about 10 days... Basically it was something to do with BT not lifting a bar on the line as the previous tenant had broadband with them. It took me going backwards and forwards between BT and MAAF to get it sorted, I was a go between really, but it took nearly a month to get it up and running. MAAF did refund me the number of days I was without broadband, which did go someway to paying off my huge dial-up charges at BT! :o

That's actually quite a common problem and has been getting worse over the last few years. This is basically because we're practically at a saturation point, with all the majoirty of people that are capable of having broadband, now do.

Often you'll see people moving house and either forgetting to cancel their broadband or the ISP failing to fulfill a cancellation request. So when the new house owner moves in, there's still a "tag" on the line. fortunately nowadays, there's a specific "tag" line within BT that we can phone for this information, but it does still cause a delay because we have to get BT to remove the service that is on the line, which normally takes a week.

Did you actually click on the link in my post? If you monitor your own usage, "I've been having problems getting on there for a while..." is irrelevant as you would have a record of your usage on your own PC and would know if you had in fact gone over your limit.

 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:

I've not read your post but I've been monitoring my own usage for years now using 'NETMETER'. Works a treat and is usually there or thereabouts in relation to the figures stated by MAAF. Mind you I very rarely go over 1GB let alone my 5GB limit.

edit: I have now read your post.....Great Minds !!
