You liked it so much, you posted it 3 times :D

If you want to delete a post, click on edit and then choose delete...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

• Well after Alan's advice we decided to rule out the Marron marble but although we are prepared to pay the £2000 for the Lapponia for our island unit, I'm still not convinced the colour is right!

Let's face it, it is rather a lot to spend if we're going to end up regretting it, so we decided to look at some alternatives. DH fell in love with Labrador Antique, which is not cheap either but he feels is a better colour choice to go with our mix of bluey/green (celadon) painted units and free-standing painted cream cupboards as well as the limestone floor tiles and pale stone walls. DH thinks we need a darker colour to 'anchor' the scheme and that the blue lights in the Labrador will tie in nicely with our units.......but for me, even under our newly fitted down lighters the Labrador looks dark and a bit boring and the blues are not very visible on the sample we have :(

So now I'm stuck - unfortunately we don't have a sample of the Lapponia (which i remember as being much more full of interest than the Labrador) as the supplier hadn't had any cut yet when we visited, but hopefully they can get one to us by Friday and then we can see it in the context of the room with all the different components.

In the meantime, does anyone have either any suggestions for alternative brown granites or experience of putting bluey/green granites in a similarly colour-schemed room please?

Many thanks,

Phoebe x

Ps cyclonebri1, I'm loving your granite - it looks fab!

Phoebe,

Chances are your supplier is buying product in from a large wholesaler, so at this point if you're not sure what you want to buy why not try and find a large importer to look around and choose stock.

These people will not sell to you, they are trade only (that's more to do with handling the product than protecting margins) however many will happliy allow public in to view product that they can then request their stonemason buy on their behalf.

The closest large importer wholesaler to Wiltshire is:-
INGEMAR GROUP UK LTD
UNIT 27
WESTON BUSINESS PARK
LANEYS DROVE
WESTON - SUPER - MARE
NORTH SOMERSET
BS24 8RA

TEL 01934 625 252
FAX 01934 615 924
bristol@ingemargroup.com

Give them a call and ask them if you can view.

If you're local mason is not happy about buying a product you picked I have a regular customer in Devon who buys from Ingemar and will happily do the fit for you in your chosen material.

Thanks very much Alan - that's very useful to know and I appreciate the advice and trouble you have taken to help :D

Realistically we're not going to get much further forward with this now before Christmas, but will certainly factor your recommendations into our decision-making process!

Thanks again,

• Dear Phoebe,
If you want to see more brown granites use website 4 graniteworktops co uk very large variety for choosing from.

My personal preference from brown would be Antique Brown which is not cheap but very nice.

In regards Marron marble you could use as kitchen worktop but also yes it is not very practical for kitchens because it is marble, but if you still want/like this material don't worry and get it >
> but before you buy ask your stonemasons to apply Dry-Treat impregnating sealer, which is in my opinion best known sealer.

If you want to be more confident in your purchases I would recommend you to get quartz worktops: Brand- Okite, Compac thous brands I believe got replica of Marron marble.

If you need more free advice regards any marble & granite worktops please contact me via craftsmanltd co uk
:A
Thanks
Tadas
