    Hi, Welcome to comping.

You'll either be contacted by email, sometimes by phone or prizes might just turn up out of the blue which is very nice indeed.

Good luck. I hope you win something soon cos the feeling when you do is ace!

Thats great, thanks a lot. i was worrying that i had to write down the name of every site and keep checking them. Another thing is, i know there is no guarentee , but i seen somewhere the win ratio is 1/1000. does this seem correct.

lol No, no need to write them down. There are some compers who make spreadsheets but most don't bother. If you enter a comp and click the 'thanks' button and the 'entered' button in the opening post you'll be able to keep track that way.

It's hard to say re - win ratio, it's really just down to luck. Some people enter less and win more, some people enter absolutely loads and can win nothing or barely anything for months.

I enter about 100 to 200 per day and win from about 5 prizes up to 30 prizes per month. Some prizes are small eg a razor, some might be big eg a Wii or an iPhone.

There's no real 'fairness' to comping. The amount of time a person spends or the amount of comps entered doesn't necessarily reflect what a person wins. It's just down to getting your name pulled out of a hat (or the electronic version of). Also, compers seem to have good spells and bad spells. Having said that the more you enter it stands to reason that the more chance you have of winning something.

It's a great hobby and the feeling you get when you win is really very amazing, it's enough to get you hooked anyway.

    I don't mind you asking.

I've had a few that would be worth about a grand. I won £1,000 to spend on a clothes website, a netbook and vouchers that would be worth about £1,000 in total, another prize was a camcorder, a PS3 and some headphones and once a TV and a Blue Ray just turned up out of the blue.

I've been comping for about 4 years now, last year was probably my best to date but one prize that seems to escape me is a holiday or a short break. It's funny cos i've seen people say that they are having to stop entering holiday comps because they can't go on any more that year but even though I keep trying I don't seem to get lucky with those.

If I could give anyone starting out any advice it would be just be prepared for the quiet spells. They are hard going and it's soul destroying at times constantly plugging away to seemingly get nothing in return, BUT, you have to keep at it. When they come the wins really are amazing. I've had some wonderful prizes that have made a huge difference to me and to those close to me. If I weren't entering competitions i'd be cleaning or watching TV and you don't get surprises turn up for doing that.

It might be a silly question but why sign up to Prizefinder when we have virtually every comp on here that is out there & the answers are on here,in most cases. We seem to have a lot more than any other site posted on here.
I used it years back but when I found this soon stuck with MSE.Mind you I did win a trip to NY with them so it always holds a bit for me.
