Comping For Cash Article Discussion

Hey I've just read over the article and want to start comping! Is it only the links in the forum that people use here or are there places to find more?
Also is it necessary to provide a different email to your normal one? Do you tend to get bombarded with spam?
I'm currently in Spain studying for the year so have plenty of time for this sort of thing lol!!
I'd stick to just one site to save duplications & disqualifaction for entering again. Most comps find there way on here in the end as we have a lot of "searchers" on here.
I'd set up a seperate email addy eg Hotmail or Gmail for just comping if I was you.A seperate PAYG mobile is not a bad idea either.
You'll get spam/marketing emails but there is no such thing as a free lunch is there?
I'd also advise getting the free version of Roboform on your PC and also on a USB stick so you can enter comps quickly anywhere. http://www.roboform.com/
Good luck0 -
Does anyone ever win the ITV comps ( enter 5 times) on line. surely they will only pick the telephone paying callers.0

Re the ITV comps. Does anyone ever win the entry 5 times on line or is it the telephone entries that win? Re the register and enter comps. are there really prizes or is it a scam to get your address?0

Quite a few on here have won via the online route. The latest was "Crackout" who won a car plus about £10k in shopping vouchers.
Of course some comps are there as a data collection exercise but the real scam type ones are soon spotted on here.
I see it as quid pro quo.We want something & they want something.Just sent a seperate email account up to deal with any extras from comping. If I get any postal junk I do not see it as a problem.0 -

hi - hope no-one minds me posting this and hope someone can help - i work for a charity and organise an annual fund-raising short-story writing competition, i would love to post it on MSE as it would really raise its profile , but we do charge an entry fee. It is obviously quite specialised. I know the rules and free entry but are there any exceptions for charity or is there elsewhere on the mse forum (or any other forums for that matter) that i can post it on?
many thanks in anticipation

If it costs more than £1.50 to enter I'd PM one of the board guides and ask for special dispensation.
Due to the nature of the type of competition you describe (writing a story) I suspect you won't get too many entries from here even if it was free. If you want to raise a lot of money for your charity by a fee based competition, you'd have better luck with a text entry competition like newspapers run. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
