Does anyone else miss the days when going on holiday meant completely getting away from everyone back home? Just a break with the people you went away with.

OH is banned from taking his laptop on holiday. It's bad enough we have to take our mobiles and get constant texts from friends/family at home. I wish we could rewind to when you'd give someone at home an emergency hotel contact number that they'd never use.

    *sigh*

Oh no! I'm so sorry chocolatepennyfarthing, I was supposed to report back about the signal at Rudyard and completely forgot. Well thanks to you I had a lovely walk with the dog right the way round in the warm rain and I have to say I had a signal all the way, and even driving down the lanes. So perhaps if the actual place you're staying at is in a pocket which is protected in some way, all your offspring will have to do is go out into the garden.

I'm on orange now but I used to live nearby (just the other side of the Macc Road) and then had voda and both were fine. You'll have such a lovely time, this is a wonderful part of the world, people think of Staffordshire as defunct coalmines and potteries, and they stay away. It's so peaceful and beautiful and I just love it and am quite happy that people stay away!!!
