Its ok, I have made over 40 calls to the 0800 number in the last 2 hours, thats cost me £150+vat so far in time.

And still no one is answering the phone.

    Cheers, Des.
  • Maybe because the service hasn't launched yet, so there's noone there to man the phones?!

Moneymoan: If you don't work for them, then you do work for their PR agency!

Des - I am also taking note of how long it is taking to contact them. Like yourself I'll also be adding VAT :)

Well after over 2 hours of trying I finally got through!

Now some of this is from memory, I would have to check the recording for details, but the directory service is outsourced to another company and they are getting a huge amount of flack over this. (They expected some, but not this much)

They will not send confirmation that your number has been removed, and it takes 4 weeks for your number to be removed from the database.

They have no mechanism to prevent your number being used in between you requesting removal and whenever some time in 4 weeks when they get around to removing it.

    Cheers, Des.

interesting.. i searched for myself, and it found me, but as i've had loads of different mobile numbers, i have no clue what number they've passed my "details" on to.

now, i'm thinking my mum, who uses my old sim card, now on payg, will have a text from them, which will confuse her wonderfully until i get home... but my current number hasn't had a text from them saying - hi, this person is trying to contact you

also, you really don't have to put much details in to register..
according to them, my name is M M

i have no first name or surname, i'm so stealth and down with the kids, my name is just 2 letters.. .muahahah

but seriously, that's a bit !!!!, that they let people register with just a 1 letter name and surname...

And I take it they won't refund you if they have the wrong number on their database, no, of course not.

Once you register they want £1 to text you the number.
    The man without a signature.
