Apparently this has arisen because of their habit of asking 'am I too early?'Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
Before I found wisdom, I became old.0 -
Just checking but have you all heard of www.buspassheaven.co.uk they started up at the time the free pass became available. They started as a thread on MSE and started up a company. Loads of bus schedules, routes and handy tips. They are begging for visits to the site - check them out.member # 12 of Skaters Club

I did read somewhere that the site had hit the skids.
Looks like it`s resurected!0 -
Make sure you know on which side your car filler cap is on. Then go to a pump that is on that side. No more pulling and struggling with the hose to get it around to the other side of the car.
If you buy a new car or you only drive the car occasionally and forget which side the filler cap is, just look at the fuel gauge and which ever side of the gauge the little petrol pump is located on then that is the side of the vehicle your filler cap is on.0 -

Check out benefits from The Pension Service - 08456060265. If you don't want to talk on the phone or go online they have lovely visiting officers (I'm one) who will come and see you and make sure you get every penny you are entitled to - and we pass on all sorts of info about anything else useful to pensioners-including MSE!0

Trying to think of the nickname I`ve heard for pensioners waiting for their free buses just before the 9-30am limit.
DAK ?
When free bus passes for the elderly first started in London; users were rather unkindly referred to as "Wombles" as they were likened to some of the characters in the TV series.
As has been said above, that phrase quickly morphed into "twirlies". One route I worked on had a main stop timed at 0928 on a 20 minute frequency - guess how much friction that caused!0 -
If you're over 60 you don't have as much time left as a twenty year old.
Don't waste what time you have left by reading any more of this thread!:eek:0
