Anyone following it?
13" Macbooks have been changed to 13" Macbook Pro's with SD card slot and 800 firewire:T. + newer better displays.
I finally don't have to worry about upgrading to a new one due to lack of firewire.:j

And they're £899 with backlit keyboard and better processor. Makes me glad I got a refurb a few months back

Only thing is, as the battery is non-replaceable, it might not be so easy to upgrade the HDD...Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0 -

Thats a drop in price from £949, which was without backlit keyboard(which would of cost over £1100 before), SD slot, Firewire 800 and Better processor and a better screen.
Battery lasts longer, Apparently 7 hours across the board which is a 2 hour improvement, which is a bonus, I'm not too bothered about harddrive upgrade but it would be interesting to see if it is upgradable easily.0 -
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard will be available as an upgrade to Leopard users for $29. The new iPhone looks nice, and the "Find my iPhone" feature is really cool if anyone is worried about having their iPhone stolen. Also, the return of FireWire to the MacBook (or the MacBook Pro as it is now) is very welcome. I wouldn't consider buying one without it; it's just too useful on a Mac.
Price drops, increased battery life and specs is good news all round.0 -

Old battery lasts 300 cycles
New battery lasts 1000 cycles
so it really isn't that bad!
3 year life out of 1 battery at 270 cycles before i replaced it... even if you get 5 years out of the laptop, you're not probably going to need the battery replacing0 -
I think they're saying that if you buy a new mac after today, you can get the upgrade for $10.
Yeah, $9.95 including P&P. You have to request the upgrade within 90 days of purchase, or before December 26th, whichever comes first.
You snooze you lose!
The finished version of Safari 4 has also been released. I'd advise all Mac and Windows users to check it out; it's a very fast browser.0 -
