i totally agree,it doesnt matter what it is whether it is for example if you got bad sevice from somewhere/someone and then got good another time its always the bad service that you remember and can cloud your judgement i for one are guilty of this and the 3 cases i know are one of the main things that really get my goat but you have to take a few minutes to get the right perspective on things (and hope to god they get found out)i have got no issue at all with taxcredits/benefits for the genuine cases.i went off on one today cos one of my boys was nearly unable to play in a school football match due to our working patterns and the logistics of it all,and even one of my work colleagues said it seems unfair that my kid is peanalised for both of us working and trying to support our family whereas if i didnt work it wouldnt have been a problem.(somehow we managed to sort it out as it was a last minute thing yesterday )looby75 wrote:I know of one couple who have claimed to live apart and share custody of their 5 kids so they can each claim the appropriate benefits/credits even though they live in the same home and the 5th child was conceived during this supposed separation.
But as you say that doesn't mean the system only works for scammers. I'm sure that in the bigger scheme of things the majority of people getting help are genuine honest people who really need the help they are receiving.0 -

I sincerely hope I don't get to speak to you when I need to phone up Tax Credits, or anyone else with your attitude. I could tar all Tax Credits call line people with the same brush - after all you are the only one that I "know" about..... in the same way that you tar many claimants. I don't know the facts and nor do you about the real lives of these people.
You appear to be very bitter and resentful about things, yet there are two of you working together. A single person has none of the advantages of sharing the costs that you do or of sharing the responsibility and have to pay full whack on bills, food etc.Torgwen..........

I too know one family who could "get off their backsides" but I know 10 families who are trying their hardest .
My husband before he died ,was made redundant and claiming benefits but ,couldn't get a job for love nor money as ,he was either over qualified ,or didn't have the right piece of paper or even ,too educated to drive a truck .He was prepared to do anything but ,the jobs weren't there .
The "few" do tar the name of the many .
Even if you choose not to have kids, there are benefits out there .You still have access to the NHS ,still can do Adult Education ,Still use the roads etc .If you become unemployed ,you can claim .
Anyway,I am not going to say anymore as ,I am too tired to think.0 -
fatbloke,
stop moaning and move on with your life. Honestly, do you realise how much energy you are wasting by ranting about things you have so little control on?
you cant criticise anyone about what they did in a certain situation unless you have been through the same.
If you do find some people commiting benefits fraud then shop them, but let it go, for Christ's sake.
(PS: OH and I are both working, earning the graduate average starter salary, running 2 cars and paying all the expenses you mentioned above, yet we are happy and getting on with our lives, sure we dont have the latest gadgets but we are fine with each other)"Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye
