Has anyone ever clicked on these thinking they were a genuine competition?0 -
i had one of those the other day, i ignored it0

Hi,
could anyone tell me if this is a scam? I got this email from apparantly '1000-vouchers.co.uk' - but since I've had loads of scams recently I'm scared to click on it! Do others get loads of scams too from entering competitions?
anyway, this is what I got:
Hello (my name),
Congratulations! You are our possible winner
We are happy to announce that you are one of our lucky participants selected to win
two shopping vouchers (Argos, Amazon, TOPSHOP, H&M) of a value of £1.000 each:
1. Jessica Millers
2. Mandy
3. Luke Watkin
You could be our possible winner of 2x £1.000 shopping vouchers!
I always delete when the word "possible" involved you and a few thousand others. You would probably have your name round various companies which would increase marketing e-mails.0 -
Have you read Susieboo's post in the Discussion thread?

Thank you, just out of interest what would happen if I clicked on it. I'm assuming I would get a load of junk emails which I've recently got - am I right, or would it leave a virus on the computer. As it happens I use the library computers so I don't know if they would be able to block any viruses - you can tell I'm not that 'informed' about cyber space!
I clicked on it the first time i got this email thinking i had won something, what they wanted was my mobile number to subscribe to something i then realised i had not won anything and just clicked out.:(0 -
I think this is a scam?

If it was sent from Yahoo it probably is a scam... You could always contact them through the 'contact us' part on their website
(but go through google or something to find the address...as the link could be a virus or bogus site) - don't give your address until you're sure.

Just came in and logged into my emails and there is 32 newsletter emails from a comp I entered last night (cant remember what the comp was but the company is Mindful Money)
These emails came over a space of 8 minutes after 1am!!!
I don't normally respond to spam but I was so angry, I emailed every single one of them back separately with a message telling them I do not appreciate spam.
Its so funny watching the read receipts coming in for each one being read. And I must add, they are being read by 3 people so far!!!:rotfl:
I also used to use my mobile number when entering comps and then I started getting calls from mobile phone & utility companies and also calls where no one answers, it was annoying. So now I have a free sim in an old phone and use that number for comps.
my advise (as some others have suggested) used a seperate email and (if possible) separate number for comps.:j BIG THANKS TO ALL COMP POSTERS, MUCH APPRECIATED :j0 -
