I love getting scam emails - particularly when they have such gems as this:
my father was a highly reputable business magnet :rotfl: :rotfl:
and
Now permit me to ask these few questions:
1. Can you honestly help me from your heart?
2. Can l completely trust you?
3. What percentage will be good for you from the total funds after it is delivered to your care?
er.... how do you think she'd react to
1. No
2. Definitely No
3. 100% would be good but as I sincerely believe this is all total fiction I think I'll pass
You'd think a university undergraduate would know the difference between a magnate and a magnet wouldn't you......hope she's not doing physics.....:rotfl: :rotfl:

He also gets visited by dodgy tradesmen about once a week, but asks for help to deal with these. I'm really concerned about how these conmen are getting FIL's money. FIL doesn't want to hear it from us that he is being conned. I don't know what to do.
I understand that he may be too proud or simply embarassed to be told that these are all con-men...
If it is happening repeatedly, I think you ought to look up a non-emergency contact number in the front of the telephone book and call the police now, as he is already the victim of criminal offences. It will be a sensitive matter as they have to accept your word and visit him, and hope that he co-operates without being too offended.
Sorry.

This site is a godsend. I too recieved a recorded delivery from Seasons Holidays and checked out their website (with celebrity endorsement [they should be ashamed]). Usually the junk mail I recieve goes straight in the bin but the recorded delivery put a shadow of doubt in my mind. But thanks to the great advice on here I was able to read of others who had the same experience and were less fortunate that myself. Thank you for all of your help.
We listened to Martin's mortgage advice and saved loads.

I've just won a free week at Seasons. Aren't I lucky?
Where do I sign?

I've received 3 e-mails today all from Competition Team team@competition.com thanking me for registering for cheapflights, snapfish and something else, which I haven't, and they look phising e-mails to me. I guess they got my e-mail from one of the competiton entry.
Anyone else had these?0 -

Thank you for your email of 2 March 2008 regarding Timeshare and Holiday Clubs the Office of Fair Trading. I am sorry for the delay in response.
