I only started comping in December, but I have the ability and use it to have a different email for each website I enter a comp on. As the email address I use I can then work out wheich site they got my email address from.

I haven't received any of the dodgy mails in question yet, but I will keep everyone informed of any websites that generate these. Only place I have found producing a lot of spam was before I saterted the comps on here and entered my details on MyOffers (BIG MISTAKE). Luckily as it was all to a unique email anything to that address automatically goes in the bin now.

My Dad received a letter from the above last week. It starts " We are pleased to inform you today(8.1.08) of the the results of THE INTERNATIONAL LOTTERY BOARD PROMOTIONS held on 4.1.08 as part of our NEW YEAR bonanza"

It goes on to give a ticket no and ref no and then asks you to complete a form giving your bank details so that the "funds" can be put straight into your account. The "winnings" were a wopping 715,810 euros. I think it's part of this Euro lottery scam that's goin on.

Where are these people coming from?

The letter looks so official that elderly people and even others can easily be drawn in as my dad nearly was. It's shocking!. Is there anywhere else that I should post this? Although this scam is pretty well known by a lot of people.

Received my ' guaranteed notice of award entitlement' for £10,000 today from Concord Awards. I was just shredding it whilst reading this site.

I totally agree with donp about these letters and elderly people - my 91 year old mother gets them and gets very stressed about whether they are real and what she should do as they often sound convincing.

This one also offered me the chance of 'an exquisite item ---- reserved in my name. This masterwork will be cherished for years to come.'

The mind boggles as to what I might have received if I had been so daft as to send them the £14.97 (small processing fee!!!) which they were asking for. It is frightening to think that they would only need about 750 people to do this to cover the £10,000 always assuming anyone gets it. Using a UK address but posted in Canada.icon8.gif

    Hi all

I'm being BESIEGED by emails from Tesco Promotions, Sainsburys, IPhone, Primark, saying I've won gift cards of varying denominations and obviously none of them are genuine but I'm just wondering exactly where they've got my email from. Anyone any hunches?
