I've had a couple of times where the answerphone's picked the call up and they've hung up (not that I suspect they're trying to sell me something:rolleyes: ) and on doing 1471 I get a number I don't recognise - it starts 013 015......? and I can't find it on any of the 'nuisance number' sites......

I didn't note the number but would if it happened again. I learn slowly............

I joined MYOFFERS via another site not so long ago and today I got a phone call saying that I had won a holiday then she gave me a free phone number 0800 988 9900 and reference to call this holiday company, and so I did, and spoke to the person and he said, I've won a flight and accomodation paid holiday for me and my partner to either costa del sol, tenerife or portugul.

Then he went on to to say that he will send me the confirmation letter and I should take the confirmation letter to their office near tottenham court road, with my ID and pick up my holiday which is valid for 18 Months and 70 pounds worth of Theatre tokens. I agreed for a time next week (provisionally)...just to get him off the phone to be honest... and then he said all I would have to pay is my airport tax at the airport and 29.50 for a booking fee which is payable when I book the holiday in the next 18 months.

Thing is I had not realised there was a thread for these competitions, so I definetely know its a scam!
Please can someone tell me, if this offer sounds genuine, I have NEVER won anything via the internet and normally just see it as spam!

I have had the same today with the same phone No to ring offering the same holiday chooses, and the same details. They have rang me back twice since the first call because i have not rang the free phone No. This makes me think it is a scam. Now i see you have to go and collect the tickets. Its possibly a hard sell when you go and collect the tickets. I would assume a genuine prize would be sent to you.:mad:

Warning, this is Club la Costa and is Timeshare. When you go to pick up your tickets you will get the heavy sell to buy a timeshare and if you go on the holiday. You will have to spend a day at a selling session trying to sell you a timeshare.

Thanks for the great info thats saved a lot of grief. They have just been on the phone again. When i started to ask a few questions he got all heavy and stated my loss and put the phone down.

Just received the same letter as posted by Claire738 in May 2007.
Thought it looked dodgy - hence searching and coming across this site.
Matters Consulting Ltd obviously have not yet been brought to book -any one else recently had same letter ?

Just had a call to say i had won an all expenses paid holiday to the caribbean recorded message telling me for further details press 3 Hung up guess if i had pressed three would have been charged mega money and got nowt. Beware everyone xx
