In reply to your post Bumblesquat I got one of those emails about a week ago. I googled the company and when I saw it was a lottery type site I just deleted the e-mail. (that was the decision I made!) Also although I must have given my details to getmeaticket at some stage I had never entered a competition with them and just deleted their emails when I got them.

I would be interested to hear if anyone else got these emails!

I wouldn't delete the email, keep hold of it, but for the time being dont click on any links that the email contains, . If they are the real Getmeaticket then they wont ask for money/financial details from you as they are a legitimate organisation. If you are worried, google get me a ticket and use the contact us link and say that you have received an email from them and are nervous about it and see what they say, then come back to this thread

Some thoughts please around Readers Digest,

I know they have been going for a long time and periodically I get post from them to say that I have won a large sum of money. They want you to order a book of their choice, which you are under no obligation to keep, and then you qualify for the prize. I always shred the letter and throw them out. Does anyone ever get the prize money? ;)

Hi,

Just now I got a mail from some one saying I was selected randomly for a prize. And they ask me to contact to their manager. I got this mail from info_award2007@bellsouth.net. And he mentioned he is sending this mail on behalf of LG Electronics, Inc. European Prize award department.

I guess it is a scam. Please advice me.

Thanks in advance

Hi Ramesheuk,
Found this on google: http://www.joewein.de/sw/419-bl-i.htm

The e-mail address you posted is on the list of those used to send scam e-mails. Sorry! Although I haven't seen anyone posting scams involving the LG name before. Have they been asking for more personal info?

Weird timing but I was skimming through this thread about 10 mins ago, then went downstairs to get a drink. The phone went and some bloke from British Columbia, Canada, started telling me the good news about me making the short list for one of their promotions. He said he was from a company called Van Art.
I asked him who he was and where he got my name and number for (he knew my name, I didn't tell him it). He immediately got very defensive asking me why I was being so rude... They must be VERY polite out there in BC if he thought I was being rude. I hadn't even warmed up!!

Anyway, he wouldn't tell me where he got my details, he accused me of interrupting him so I told him to carry on and tell me why he was talking. He then kept saying he would hang up, so I saved him the trouble. Hopefully it was actually costing his company money to call me.

Has anyone else heard from this company? I'm curious to find out where they got my details from

Yipee I just got my first scam call... Some guy who was barely able to speak english told me I had won in the AUSTRALIAN LOTTERY. I was really annoyed and asked where he got my number from .. then he just said good night and hung up :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
