I haven`t ever clicked on it in case it introduces a virus onto my kindle, I have reported it to amazon and have tried everything I can think of to stop it sending the emails. They never appear in my actual inbox, just on my screen whilst I am browsing something else. Anyone any ideas how to get rid of it
That's odd, walker.co.uk is a large children's book publisher, and that is the email they use for comps. (Quite a few listed on the board)
Not likely that they're scamming, it's possible that someone is pretending to be them, but most scammers go for stuff like paypal and hmrc, not publishers.
Sounds like a kindle bug. The Fire OS does have weird little quirks sometimes. Is it possible it's in your drafts or sent folder and it's getting confused?0 -
Logo is a complete copy of the genuine article. They used my full name. The email asked you to work out a puzzle and click on the correct answer. It then asked you about your recent visit to Boots. Now by coincidence or not, I had ordered from Boots a few days before and collected my order that day, so at this point I was still going along happily. It was when I won that I became suspicious. A choice of prizes to pick - Hand Cream, Face Cream etc or an Ipone 6. Wow an ipone 6 and I only had to pay £3 postage. I think not. So I facebooked Boots to ask if it was genuine and its not. Someone on facebook commented that I should know better than to think they would give away an iphone just for solving a puzzle. Obviously not a comper.0

Hi all,
Today I received in the post a letter, correctly address with what looked *looked like a stamp on the envelope, congratulating me on my entry to a TV competition and I had the answer correct. All I need to to triple my chances of winning was to find from the grid the hidden word. Entrance to in crease my chances of winning would take approx. 6minutes @ £1.50 a minute and will cost £9.75 plus my phone company charges (I guess 25pence)
I have no idea where this company has got my details from (probably some company has sold them), but more importantly I have not entered any competition.
It looks very official and if anyone doesnt read their letter properly it could cost them alot of money as im sure at the end of the phone call, it asks you to enter more times for more chance of winning.
Please be careful xxxx0 -
I input the number calling at “Who Called Me ?” (you’ll have to google it - I can’t post the link). More often than not there’ll be many comments from people who have been contacted by the same number and know the name of the company and other information.0

I had a text today that read:
Well-done, Kelly! (not my name) You took the 3RD place in our Morrisons' Christmas Prize Draw released on 25.12.2018. Don't forget to confirm it http:// random link.
I haven't clicked on it. Anyone else had a similar message? Thank you.0 -

I had a phone call from 0203939364180, and when I answered a woman told me that she was calling from Lotto Direct and that I had entered a competition to win an iPhone and had been successful. (I enter a lot of competitions so it was possible), although there was a lot of back ground noise like a call centre so I was suspicious). She then started telling me about how I could get discounted rates on up to 75 lotto entries etc. I asked straight out if this was a sales call, and she became defensive and assured me that my iPhone would be with me within 3 working days, and she called my address out to me. After a week with no sign of the iPhone I called the number and a woman told that I must have misunderstood and that they had been ringing people who had entered the competition to offer them 10 free lotto draws. I stuck to my guns and said that was not what I was told and when I was able to speak to a manager, she apologised and said that I must have been misinformed and she basically couldn't get me off the phone fast enough. Watch out for calls from this company0
