Sorry, I've been awol again but real tired and fed up:mad::mad:

I do all my banking etc on-line and have been with the same bank for over 30yrs, ops, that shows my age:rotfl:but there you go.

But I must have made it complicated for the dear ol bank by closing some savings accounts with poor interest rates to open some more with better rates and they just couldn't cope:rolleyes: poor things. But I check my accounts maybe 2 or 3 times a day,but at least once anyway, bit like monopoly he he, if I think of it like that then I don't spend it. Anyway, they kept B*llsing it up so I just nagged them till they got it right:D

Not only did this fix it, but I got loads of exercise going up and down to the bank, which is about a mile away.:rotfl: but hey ho, walkings free where as phoning isn't and I love a freebie:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Bob I went for the virgin 0% transfer card as it seems a good deal, runs for 16mths. Anything on 0% sounds good to me, but remember, IT'S ONLY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't let anyone know where I am on the forums, this is my safe place where I can chat to my Friends about anything, and Bob it's always very relaxing coming to chat here hon,:A thanks alot:T

    Love to you all

Morning folks - its nice to see you about again Bob, I hope your stomach and your insides (I wrote "sinsides" :) ) are settling down.

Banking - they drive me crazy, they really do. Once you've set up online facilities, its fine - almost all my accounts are online now, except for my credit card, and I really should do that, so I can keep up to date before the statement arrives. When I set up a transfer for the first time, I'm absolutely paranoid about it, and I send through a preliminary £1 to check its all right, as well as checking through the numbers :o I can't tell you how crazy I was when I was setting up the online payment to the Inland Revenue, it was an automated choice listing from the bank, and I phoned them and threatened them with legal action if it was wrong :o:eek::o:eek::o:eek:

I wouldn't be without it all now - so less of the "age", you lot, you *know* I'm older than you :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Well a small update moneywise.

I had a Halifax review- don't have an account, but have a card. I thought why not:confused:And the girl wrote down loads of moneysavings tips off me:D:T:rotfl:She was lovely and we had a nice natter, congratulated me on budget and deals etc. I pointed her here, but they are not allowed to be a fan of Martin because of his views re banks. I did say that we are not idiots and any site that saves you money is worth a look at, besides i look at other sites too and as banks had their dibs in tax payers money, then maybe they should stop condemning and start saving themselves.:D

The upshot is that she confirmed that i will have my debts cleared within 6 months- i said sooner, as i want to start on Mr.B's :o Also she asked if i had ever heard of the snowball calculator-errr duh, course i had. She did have a couple of tips though that i hadn't heard of and was so into moneysaving that i reckon she is a closet Martin Fan anyway. One thing that struck me though was actually how much i pay into household accounts-my half of bills and all the extras i pay for, such as food and DD2s expenses. I also pay for all the birthday and anniversary stuff and cop for a few other things.Such as dental etc. It just makes me realise how much he doesn't budget and how much i squirrel away. I think i am too enabling!

So that has to stop if he is going to get ahead on stuff. Does that make sense? I Know i get a lot of vouchers through a variety of things so that goes a long way and some folks see marriage finances as a joint thing...i suppose i am explaining myself badly here-but he has had all our joint savings for tax, had my old car ( which i paid for) as a trade in for his car( which he can't afford) and well i could go on...but i feel strongly that he should budget for stuff. It is the only way that we can get out of this hole and have to maximise all income on both sides.

I think that if i continue to put away then he won't.. so he should...yep that's what i wanted to say.

Banking all done and dusted, so can relax for a couple of weeks.Looking forward to payday so i don't go in the red. That's about it, your thoughts on the above would be welcome.
