I am thanks Shaun and everyone who has asked. Feel human now, which is an improvement.
Wrote a long post before and got booted off, so maybe for the best really.
Positives, sold some old mobiles using Martin's new mobile checker. One company said worthless other said worth £4 M&S vouchers...guess which one i chose? Found an old one of DD2's so all in the pot and hopefully will come out with over £13 of vouchers....hehehe:T:rotfl:
Negatives...well Joint account is dire...i don't use this one:cool: and it is £680 short of its overdraft limit..i could scream. This account has all bits like family allowance, quidco, tax credits paid in. All bills come out of it, utilities etc. Which are covered by the above and also i pay in difference for my half of bills and i buy food, pressies ( MSE ones) and pay my own bills. Extras go in overpayments. There is some stuff pending which i can't see, but reckon i know who has been spending:mad:So all my hard work last month and it is back to square one, re overdraft.
The other thing is that though i don't use it for spends, the bank could legitamately get my dosh out of the account in my name.:o Will have to move some just in case. I refuse to put any more into the account as..well he has had more than enough and needs to stick to a budget. Does this sound harsh?
Oh and his car tax is due, so no doubt the overdraft will be right up to its limit.:o:o
Some days i think is it worth it at all? Does anyone know if i can take my name off a joint account when it is overdrawn?
Hope everyone has a good day.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Sorry to hear that MR BOB is being the usual pain in the butt...I feel for you I really do.I don't know the answer about the joint account ..why not ask the bank themselves as I guess that this will vary from bank to bank.
Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better though.0 -
Cheers Taxi, in all honesty i don't think he is doing this intentionally as he has cut back on his bills and made arrangements. I am thinking it is to do with petrol and the like and i have persistantly told him to open a seperate account for this.
At least then a set amount is paid in and sorted out.It makes sense to me to do it this way and we could then I could make inroads into the joint account. At this rate, will be paying everything off till Kingdom come.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

It could very well be the petrol as I go through about £800 or more some months!!!0

Good grief Taxi, that is a huge bill, but understandable as it is a business.
Had a quick look on forums and it looks unlikely that i can get my name removed until overdraft clear.
Going to have to come up with a cunning plan to scupper the sod from ruining stuff with the bank.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I ended up setting up my own account so I HAD the choice weather to help him out or not. It never works trying to help them bob, they have to sort it on their own. I still haven't learned as you know but I'm getting there and am not officially with him any more.
A councilor once told me that what I was doing was being an enabler, by enabling you are renforcing their habits and really telling them it's ok couse you'll sort it.
It made me think, but it hasn't cured me yet:rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for that insight HWGA. I have my own account, but it is with the same bank. He has sorted some things out and i suppose like all of us it takes time, but i am worried that he continually doesn't think things through. I have noted a few other things over the year and i expect it is the same of a lot of households, as I have paid for or sought out MSE pressies for everyone and notably he has had to sort out his parents who amazingly haven't recieved their birthday pressies ( from March ) or Mothers day pressy. It is their Golden Wedding anniversary this August and he wants to book in the hotel where they are having it ( told him to naff off) and he also wants to use any vouchers i have got ( this i would do so anyway) but his lack of fore thought at things is galling.
It does seem a lot of 'I am' or 'I have paid' probably because his idea of working together means unconditional access to money ear marked for stuff.
Think i need me a pair of ear plugs and a thicker skin. Thank god for MSE.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

another thought...petrol seems to be a consistent excuse...how many miles does he do a month? I do a fair bit but not enought to constantly stuff the budget up...plus if its business he should be able to get it back surely?Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
