Can anyone give me a good reason why I should switch to Waitrose.

You gave the reason in your original question - better products.0

It's actually enjoyable to shop there.
They do very good reductions (better than I find in other supermarkets).
If you get on the mailing lists/sign up to 'MyWaitrose' they send discounts and vouchers for free products.
Quickcheck makes things really quick and easy.
If you have a Partnership card you get 1% back in vouchers.
Obviously didn't work in your case but MySupermarket came up with Ocado as the cheapest for me. Be aware that Ocado prices differ from Waitrose - Ocado undercuts Waitrose on Waitrose own branded stuff. If you sign up to Ocado they regularly send £10 or 10/15% off codes and there are usually some delivery slots that are free, I shop with them once or twice a month and always get a code and free delivery.0 -
better quality food.
depends on taste and budget.0 -
I've been to Waitrose and there isn't a difference in quality to most other places. Factories that produce goods for them (say a chicken pie for example) just produce lots of that one item, and give it different packaging for different shops. You could go to one supermarket and pay £3 for your chicken pie, or go to a cheap one and pay £1.20 for it and it'd be exactly the same.:j0

I find the best way to keep my shopping budget down is to visit various different supermakets including aldi, lidl, asda, tesco, chinese supermarket, healthfood shop (for some specialist items), if you've got the time it can work out much cheaper, well it has for us anyway, I take my poor boyf with me on the bus to help me carry it all*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150

If the ingredients are better quality I find you need less of it. Especially meat. I can make it stretch further and so have more meals with a slightly more expensive packet of meat which works out a similar cost per meal than cheap meat.
I work next to a Waitrose so I pop in once a fortnight on my way home and pick up any reduced stuff that I fancy which helps even more. I try to be very strict about what I get.
It can be a bad habit - I ended up getting my milk delibvered (slightly more expensive) because only Waitrose did Goat's milk in town and I was always picking up 'bargain' reductions I didnt need!

I have been using Ocado for 12 months now and have been very happy with their quality and service. I previously shopped at Sainsburys for my gneral shopping. I still get most of my meat in my monthly meatbox from https://www.wellhungmeat.com and fruit and veg from https://www.abelandcole.com.
However, I have had some meat and veg from Ocado and found it to be of good quality.
Their branded goods are price matched with Tesco and their own brand goods are cheaper to purchase online than instore.
Their delivery service is excellent.
The delivery staff have all been very pleasant. I have had virtually no substitutions in my shop.
If you have a problem with any item missing or damaged, you just put in a refund request on your account and are refunded the next day.
You get a free Times newspaper with your delivery.
They stock a variety of products that are not available elsewhere such as Willy's Wonky Chocolate.
Convinced yet?Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -
Its missing out on the points though, I have been saving for ages.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

Okay I have just looked on My Supermarket and my shopping trolley is shown as follows:
Tesco £98.41
Asda £101.12
Sainsbury £109.02
Ocado £126.85
Thats a difference of £28.44 and no points. Not sure I can justify this.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

Thats not really a faiur comparison tho as ocado don't always have the same offers as Waitrose. You'd be better doing a comparison with waitrose deliver0
