In the early weeks you may have an internal scan (dildo cam ) as your uterus is down behind your pubic bone so you don't need to drink water.

Coming up to and at the 12 week mark your uterus may still be behind your pubic bone, filling your bladder pushes the uterus up above it so that the sonographer can use a normal scanner.

After 12 weeks your uterus should be above the pubic bone and you shouldn't need to fill your bladder.

i've never had a dildo cam, am i missing out? :rotfl: lots of women with pcos have said they've had that kind of scan, but our unit just does the tummy one and makes you drink a load of water.

Mine sonographer freaked me out as she just stuck it in without talking me through it... just stroked me with it at first to "get me happy" as she put it.. I think she enjoyed it waay too much...

They only use it when they cant see the baby from the top as with me.. it actually scared me as there was literally nothing and I had a thousand thoughts running through me that I wasnt really pregnant and how I would tell that to the family.. but as soon as she stuck her finger of fun with a cam in we saw it all there... beautiful as ever.

well the baby bit sounds lovely but i am quite disturbed by the rest of it :rotfl: i don't know much about it but isn't there a mucus plug in the way, or does that not appear until later on? my uterus is tilted so it's a bit tricky to see things to begin with, or if i'm not pregnant, but having a full-to-bursting bladder seems to be the key unfortunately. roll on may 4th :-) i'll be 12 weeks and 2 days.
