    Hi Guys,

Thankyou so much for your concern..

I had my first scan, Was told im about 7 and 1/2 weeks by the scanner but then a nurse looked at it and said that her baby didnt look like that at 7 and 1/2 but more like a bean whereas mines has alot more definition so I think I am at 8 weeks tomorrow afterall (due 15th) Size: 11.2mm What an amazing experience.

I had totally forgotten why I was in there having the scan so luckily i had hubby with me who while i was changing asked the scanner if there was anything wrong with my ovaries as my GP suggested but she said there was nothing and all was perfectly well.

The pain was suggested to be indigestion of the abnormal kind which can have people doubled over.

    Hiya
    Phewwwww
Really glad you are OK and your ovaries are clear. :j :j :j
R U happy with this indigestion diagnoisis? If not go back to GP and don't let it drop, have you ever been doubled over with indigestion before?

I had indigestion with baby and midwife advised gaviscon - it is excellent. I was buying over the counter at first but it is expensive so get it on prescription.

    Hiya TP,

For now I think Im happy with the indigestion diagnosis as anytime I "release" either north or south (sorry tmi lol) I feel mildly better for a while..

Ive never had indigestion before to know what it feels like though I know ive never seen others doubled over with it.. I shall see for a while how I go.

I have the aniseed Gaviscon which I really cant stand... doc wrote me some more today so might try getting the peppermint one or other flavour if they have one.

    xx

Edit: How long did your pregnancy prescription entitlement come trough? I completed a form today at the docs after i told them i read on here i was meant to, GP was shocked the receptionist hadnt already had me fill one weeks ago. Receptionist told me it will take 2-3 MONTHS for it to come through... cant be.. can it?

You should still be able to get free prescriptions. Just tick the box on the back when you are at the pharmacy. I did this and never got asked to show any proof (and that was before the big tummy!!).

Glad to hear everything went well. Hope you didn't have to pee too badly!

Well speaking of that.. I drank about 3 litres... was feeling queasy and badly needing to go to the loo AND needing to sneeze which I had to keep at bay else there would have been a really wet experience LOL

I went to the hospital for the scan only to be told to go empty my bladder before the scan.. AAARRRGGGGGGGG

Not a pleased bunny was I!!!

glad you're okay! drinking peppermint tea might help you, or taking colpermin (it's just peppermint oil in a capsule, but about a fiver for a box).

i got my scan letter today and it says to drink 1 litre of water 1 hour before scan, if you're 12 weeks or less. if more than 12 weeks no drinking needed.

I wish someone would have told me that at the hospital!!!!
I had my 20week scan today. Hadn't been to the loo for 2 hours and drank loads of water. I went in and they couldn't get all the measurements the way the baby was lying so had to walk around for half an hour - still desperate for the loo. Then go back in!!! I was parying the one loo there was free!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

that's such a shame! it's printed on the scan letters here. apparently by 20 weeks your uterus is in a position the can see, or something like that so it doesn't need a bladder full of wee to push it forward.

i've had real trouble in the past though, if i haven't been pregnant. drinking so much that you can't walk and yelping when they put the scan thing on your belly because the pressure might make you wet yourself lol! they always send me back out into the waiting room with a jug of water because my bladder isn't full enough. but by 20 weeks pregnant i've gone in with an empty bladder each time and it's been fine.

How odd, when I had both my scans with Spud my letter told me specifically NOT to drink lots prior to the scan & the sonographer sent me to the loo before starting both times and even then on my second one my bladder wasn't enpty enough for her to see Spud properly! Must be a different type of scanner??
