it looks like the 3 deal is the 1 i need, what about the modem tho because o2 charge £58,00 where as 3 there's no mention how much it is/
The modem is the USB drive which you receive. It's free on 3, apart from the P&P whereas it's £58 on O2. If you go for the 3 dongle though, just remember to put in the promotional code you'll receive when you register, otherwise you'll be charged the full amount!
By the way, would you consider yourself to be a light user, or heavy user because a contract would probably be better if you plan to use it heavily i.e. more than the 7GB which 3 offer for £25 (Sorry I think I made a mistake in the last post!)
A contract with 3 would get you 15GB for £15 a month and free dongle, so that might be better if you plan to be a regular heavy user. See here:

Ah! Well then the PAYG 3 deal might suit very well them. I've got internet at home but I just got one in case I needed to travel with work, and then I could top up if needs be, and all the rest of the time it isn't costing me anything!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
i got bb at home also

Maybe just one other thing you should check is that you'll have good enough reception in the areas you'll most likely use it in (Not always possible to tell, I know!) but it's not much use in having it it if it'll not work in the areas you want it to! See here:

i've entered a postcode and the map comes up in blue, does that mean the coverage is very good?0

I also ordered (and received) the free 3 dongle from http://www.3dongle4free.co.uk/ for the postage cost of £4.95.
The dongle is the ZTE MF627 which can also be unlocked free of charge if you do decide to use someone other than 3 (even though their PAYG data tariffs are very good, and are actually competitive to most contract plans).
More info from users who have bought it and also about unlocking it can be read at What Mobile's forum====0 -

Dark blue is very good apparently, while light blue is good. Might not be totally accurate, but it gives a guide anyway!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
