Evening. I went to sleep for a little while but was woken by a twin wanting me to do something for her. SEP! She wanted me to get DS to contact her ex, father of DGS2, and get him to contact SS. Not up to us.
I have been sorting out the kitchen table, (there is one underneath all that after all!). Managed to put away all the biscuits, crisps and junky food that I got from Approved, as well as all the sauce mixes etc.
Did a pressure cooker dinner, everything in it, as that was easier for my arm. A morning in the Village hall, and then driving to Oxford and back in one day is just a little bit too much for me. At least I dont have to do that again.
I am thinking about how to re-arrange the furniture so that DGD has some more space, and that DS also gets as much as possible. Of course in a two bedroomed cottage with furniture thats a little bit too big for it, (after living in a bigger house and down sizing), its a little bit difficult to work out. My bedroom has become a dump ground and now it needs to be a dual purpose room, as its going to have to be my work room proper now!.
Re my birthday, BF is off climbing mountains and is now walking in a different direction from me, so I have no plans. As its Thursday, its not exactly a day for going anywhere. Perhaps I will see if I can meet up with Molly for tea and cakes somewhere. If I can get DS and twin1 to hang on to DGD for an hour or two, I would like to mooch around the charity shops for some inspiration and maybe blow a couple of quid on something interesting that I can make into a sale in the future.
I have an order for a Toaster cover, out of some of the fabric I made the teacosy and ovengloves in.
I may make a complete set of things with whats left, i.e. egg cosies and pot holders etc. IF ONLY MY ARM HOLD OUT. Timing is going to be the thing.
SEP's are going to have be the order of the coming weeks, so that I can fit in sewing with caring for DGD, and the garden! My fruit and veg need tending.
While DS is at home I hope he will help. Unfortuantely the work he had has finished, until October so he has to go and sign on again, and go through all that rigmarole. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Just a thought, but can he not get some supermarket work or similar? I'm sure the staff discount will come in use too! x0

He has been to the supermarkets here, but at the moment they are not hiring, except a 4am - 8am shift. And I cannot get him to that! I think DGD would struggle to be woken then, and SS would say it was child cruelty!! ha ha.
We will keep our eyes open for the opportunties. Alas such a small village in the middle of know where has its downside for lack of transport. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
All I can 'suggest' is that while DS is job hunting, he makes sure he pulls his weight around the cottage. The busier you keep him, the better it will be, maybe he could pick up some odd bits of gardening if he's not going to cause too much mayhem. There's no reason for him to lie around NOT being useful!
Of course you'll give him all the help you can with job hunting, but at the same time ...
BTW, worth letting everyone know, from the vicar to the village shop, that he's looking for work. Is there a pub he could clear glasses at, even?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I have a list of things that will need/want to be done, so I will keep him on his toes. Will build it up so to speak, sneak it up on him! Or he may run away again.! Which may or may not save me money, but it is good to have his company some of the time!.
On the work side, at least after his two weeks at the race course, he has decided that its better to go to work then doss about!. End results being money. Although its all gone now!.
I will see what he can get his hands dirty on job wise, in my garden, and teach him whats a weed and whats not! But there is no village shop. There is a pub, but its so quiet it doesnt even open during the day. I do know that the landlady has recently had a baby, but its always down in the bar with her, but I have never seen more than a dozen people in there!
I shall travel further afield and visit the Post office up the road, as they have a notice board of things, we can do that tomorrow.
Today is the Big Lunch, except in our village we are having the Little Lunch, in the village hall. I put my name down for it but not DS's not his style. I am only half heartedly looking forward to it. As there are the religious moments, and although I am not an athiest, I am not exactly good at open worship. Ah well, they are a good hearted bunch, and when I put my name down, I was expecting to be on my own this weekend.
DS is already awake, strange music, heavy metal, coming from the dinning room.
I shall be getting him to dismantle the bedframe thats in DGD's room, and bring it down here for him to use. Then he can store his stuff in the old odd drawers underneath it!. That will leave me space to sort out DGD's things, once and for all, they will have a place of thier own. Not just shoved in any space available.
Well there are also other things on my list. Which is growing as my brain wakes up!. But I cannot tackle much at one time. I have to remember that one. Or I will end up like yesterday, I was good for nothing by 4 Oclock, and had been struggling while going to Oxford for DS's things. Thank goodness I had an automatic, thats all I can say.
Right, positive MC, not melancholy. Onwards and upwards hey!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Why didnt I listen to myself. I was dun for by 4pm again.
Biggest of Mooloo came over with DGD around 11, and spent an hour or so helping us with DGD's room. Its looking really lovely now, and with the bunting up looks a little bit more like a little girls room.
With the bed dismantled and removed to the dining room. DS has rebuilt it, and has it in the dining room. We still need to sort out his things, correction HE still needs to sort out his things. But at least we now have the kitchen, the bathroom, and DGD's room looking good.
Tomorrow will have to be my room. I had to go to lie down, when DGD did. Although she didnt sleep and I did. Then she went back down a bit later on her own accord and is still asleep. I just tried to wake her, but she was not having any of it!.
I went to the lunch with DGD. She found a little friend there. It was OK. Beautiful selection of food, but I didnt feel well, so that ruined it a bit. SErves me right, I did too much this morning. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning,
I havent heard a single thing from either of twins this weekend at all. So they must still have some money. But neither have they paid me back any money that they owe me. (But at least they havent tried to borrow anymore either!). DS has been home since Saturday afternoon. So there is a pile of washing on the bathroom floor to be sorted. (HIs so I am not doing it.) I did point out yesterday that it didnt walk into the washing machine or onto the line by itself. So its still on the floor. I was about to do it, then remembered, if he doesnt have any clean clothes its not my fault. I will get him to do it when he wakes up.
I dont think we have any major plans today, except to try and find a dentist that will let us register DGD. My mission from the new SW.
Neck is still limiting me this morning, so I will just have to take one thing at a time. Still trying to recover from sorting out DGD's clothes yesterday.
I was looking at some holidays for DGD and myself, but think we will have to wait until the summer is over and go when its quieter. The prices are still steeper then I would like, or can afford,or at least at the initial searching is finding. Ah well, we can look, she isnt aware of holidays yet, so wont be moaning at me to take her somewhere. Just a day trip to the beach would be enough for her. (But a lot for me with the driving aspects!)
Better get on. She wants to get dressed. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo could you investigate a coach trip to the seaside to save your arm?0

Never thought of that! So used to being a car driver for the last umm 31 years!
I have seen a Parks resort holiday in essex for £299 last few days of august/first of September. May consider that.
Will research a bit more. Could take her mum and DS as well. Then I might be able to rest somewhat more. ? BF was always against me taking them as he said they didnt deserve a holiday, if they dont put the umph into things, and save. But I am not sure if its more for mysake and DGD.sWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
