Your right I probably didnt leave enough time. Oh well at least the debt is reduced a little and yes the bank is a creditor on the DMP. Ive been with HSBC for years and its a shame Ill have to leave them but ill need to open a safe account asap.

If the account you canceled them from is to become a creditor on the dmp i wouldnt worry to much, it will just mean you ballance will be higher than you thought due to the paid dd`s.
I would still phone up the bank and tell them they were canceled online but still wen through but as i said if the overdraft is to become a creditor then dont worry to much as it means this months dd are paid...this may sound bad but afte 3 years of dealing with the creditors i think sod it if its to your benifit.

I think with direct debits they need a certain amount of time to process the cancellation, so if you have a direct debit that was due to come out a few days after you cancel you would have been too late for this payment. Have a feeling this will probably be the case as I cancelled all mine through HSBC online banking and I didn't have any problems.

Good Morning old and new fellow DMP'ers:j:j:j
I've not posted for a while, but trust me I read almost everyday and I still get the support from you guys on here to keep me going and to keep me so positive. :A

For those of you who don't know I started my DMP with CCCS on the 1st April and was PETRIFIED!!:eek:
Just about to make my 5th payment and feeling great!! :p I have a shed load of debt, something like £68k or there abouts and a DFD of one million light years away!!:o:o

Yellowpinky - well done for getting to the stage you're at. It is a worry when you're first starting out that you've done things the right way. I too only sent my notifications 1st class and didn't sign them either and I remember wishing I had as everyone else seemed to have sent recorded delivery and were able to track their letters. Please try not to worry though.;)

Thank you Massivedebts, I feel so encouraged reading of your progress! :):)

Went through a list of queries about my application with NDL tonight, so everything's moving along nicely. I mentioned the idea of a further letter to Egg to them (got another letter today demanding I reinstate my Direct Debit as well as my account now being overlimit because of added interest, still to my old address even though I told them my new one, thank goodness for some kind person at my previous flats forwarding them on) and they said it was a good idea, and I should send it recorded. What does anyone think? It's basically repeating the "Hold Action" letter in case they didn't receive the first one, with bits added.

Also in the post today, a horror letter from A & L, basically telling me my account is "restricted" and that I should cut up my card and return it to them forthwith! No acknowledgement of my HA letter and also sent to my old address! I'm presuming this is in response as it's about the only card I've kept up all the minimum payments and this month's isn't even due yet. For some reason it upset me terribly even though I don't want the stupid bloody thing any more. NDL said it wasn't anything to worry about and even said it might mean that they could freeze interest and charges. Anyway, once I'd recovered I cut the thing up and was absolutely DELIGHTED to do so.

Sorry to waffle on but I suppose some of this might help someone else reading too. :)

Hi all, hope you can help with something. I'm on a self admin DMP at the mo. I wrote to all of my creditors proposing reduced payments which I started around 3 weeks ago now. I had a letter from Littlewoods today refusing reduced payment (shocker), and I was just about to send off the lovely "please reconsider" letter but I notice it states do not sign. Can someone shed any light onto why not just before i send it? Thanks

I'm not sure on this but I think it is because it means they have your signature and they might decide to get creative and add your signature to some other kind of paperwork?

Or am I just very mistrusting?

    Anyway I never sign!!!

Spoke to another imbecile at Natwest last night!! They really are trying my patience! basically they are still adding interest and charges to my over the limit (because of the charges) overdraft. the last nasty man i spoke to said he'd default my account and i got sent a letter. the guy last night was right when he said i hadn't read it because what it actually said was if i don't settle by end of the month i will be defaulted, not that i was being right now. hey ho, whatever! just do it already!

Anyway, they've been ringing me again and again for days now. home phone, leaving messages, don't mind that, i'm not there anyway, but the mobile calls annoyed me most, as i'd answer and there would be blank air!!!!!!! if you want to speak to me get a real person to ring! or leave a message! not phone me and say NOTHING! Drives me up the wall. and then when i tried ringing back that number i'd be put on hold (paying 0845 charges the whole time coz i'd had to ring them) for an age! so long that once THEY hung up on me! !!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, so last night i ring the number on the answer phone messages instead! and get to speak to a real person! And the thing that has really annoyed me more than these automated phonecalls is that the guy yesterday said they STILL hadn't received the info from payplan! Absolute b0ll0x! the second time they wrote and i phoned them back about payplan, the lady (annoyingly didn't get her name, why don't i learn) said maybe pp had the wrong address. and she confirmed the correct one and said to also try faxing it and confirmed the number!!

So the last time (4rsey man) i phoned pp right after to check they would send to that address and also fax, and phone them to tell the fax was coming! pp apparently did this (I have no reason to doubt, all other creditors seem happy enough). But yet yesterday's imbecile said there still was nothing received by them!!

So what the h3ll are they playing at??? are they just fobbing me off and in fact have the info infront of them? How do i get this info through to them if pp have tried every number, address and email address? or do i now not bother and wait to default and deal with the dca instead? they are my only problem in all this and are seriously winding me up!

Mozzy, try arguing with them??? that seems to have worked for me. just be obtrusive (but not rude) and stand your ground and keep repeating about payplan etc! and refusing to try their way! shame it's not natwest you are having problems with, i could give you the name of the guy who defaulted me! ;)

Sorry for the long rant! feel much better now that's out my system! ;)

    And breathe!!

    OMG I hate Natwest!

I have had massive probs with my overdraft with them. Same thing as you interestingly though they denied receiving any paperwork from CCCS how strange....
But I have had to pay them nearly £50 to get the account in the limit as they were gona keep hitting me with hefty charges that would have spiralled out of control. Not happy. Unfortunately it seems to have been partly CCCS fault as due to an error they did not send April and May's payment which caused the charges, but partly my fault too as I should have been checking the account.
And they won't freeze interest.

Oh dear, I need to reduce my DMP payment slightly as of next month, I hope my many lovely creditors take it ok!! It is only a small amount like a few pounds each but will wait and see. Hopefully they will accept this new slightly revised figure. :x

Please dont worry about lowering payments now and again on the dmp...over my 3.5yrs i have up and downed my payments a few times and have had no problems..including when i lowered the payment by £200 for 2 months, by the time creditors realised payments were lowered and had started to question why my payments had gone up again...and we all have to remember they cant have a penny more than we can afford and if they dont like it TOUGH!:D

    Wow this thread has grown!

So many new faces, not sure if there are any old ones around - could be good news all paid off??

Anyway I am still on my DIY DMP never hear from companies anymore, if anyone does ask for more I review that particular one. I had a tinker a few months back and sent odd payments to round the amounts I owe off as none of them are charging interest - that didn't wake anyone touch wood! And then I increased payments the month after to round figures.

Not sure if this information helps anyone, I am a couple of years maybe 3 into my DIY jobby I set it up long before I knew about this site and charities that did it for you.

I am just fingers crossed that in 9 months time Chelsea honour the remortgage I have and let me become a high street customer if they don't its not too bad at least I am not on a LIBOR mortgage anymore.

Sorry for waffling anyone that does remember me, yes I have a little time now that the school holidays are here so thats why I am online again. I do need to find a way of studying for my TA qualification but I think its going to cost me lots, I have to research online because some companies offer payment plans rather than up front like our local college.

As with life money situation is the most simple, the rest life throws at us is pants! I am loving work though and want to make use of the opportunity I have been given as it could depending on school funding only be temporary. I will try to get in touch with the college again they are useless for giving you any help its like they don't want any more students!

Thanks for your reply I didn't expect any help on that one!
