    Hi Everyone- New and old,

Hope everyone is well apart from the daily grind that is thinking about money and dmp's. I have to say not a day goes by when I don't think about money (mostly wishing I had the CC's back but i must say followed by happiness that I have managed without credit for 9 months- cut all cards up in october but didn't officially start plan until January). There have been ups and downs though, a major down being having to move home due to dp being made redundant a record breaking 3 times in 18 months and not having the money to keep renting. The plus side is that I got a new job during this time and have upped my payments so now I've gone from a scary 19 years DFD to a better 4.2 years DFD- it won't last forever though as hoping to move back with dp eventually but hopefully it will still be a lower figure than originally quoted!

I don't know if anyone else does this but do you find you pay you dmp amount and all your dd's and then with what's left end up spending not quite to your budget? I get this sort of oh look at all the extra money i have feeling and then forget that I'm meant to be squirreling it away for things like MOT's, Tax etc etc.

Anyways just one other question for anyone who has used or is using credit expert. I signed up as was curious about some of my creditors. I have watched it for a few months and just recently all my big debts have gone off credit expert and I am now left with the satisfactory ones as in old cards and my current account that i use. I'm really not sure what that means...can anybody shed some light on that for me?

    thanks x dd

    Hiya,

I have had Credit Expert for about 18 months now and my big debts are still present including all the defaulted DMP debts, apart from one. My MBNA account disappeared when it was sold to Equidebt DCA. Our mortgage and secured loan are also still shown.

If your credit file is showing only satisfactory accounts, then this can only be a good thing. I've got another 5 years until the last default drops off mine. Plus I still have 1 DMP account that has yet to be registered as a default, so it might be even longer!

Have you tried looking at the other credit reference agenies?

Things are quiet on here lately. Does that mean that everyone is getting along quite happily on their DMP's?

    Hope so!!!

    Hi Everyone
I've been with CCCS for over a year and have managed to up my monthly payments. The CCCS of course, share my payment to them to all my creditors. I've reached a stage where I'm paying over 1% of the balance each month to many of my creditors. The result is that they have increased interest accordingly. It seems that the more you pay, the more you are penalised. Has anyone else been or, are in this position and how can you handle it? All I want is to settle my debts as quickly as I can..Thanks to all

    Hi

American Express closed my account as soon as they received my notification of DMP letter, It was passed to RMA Resolve, they work on behalf of Amex, I don't think Amex neogiate whatsover with clients, CCCS have sent my offer of repayment to RMA and now I await their decision, keep everything in writing with this lot.

That does sound a bummer and does put you off upping your payments. I don't think these companies want us to pay of our debts, I think they want us stuck with them forever

You're all right - it has been a bit quiet on here.

Although I have to say I quite like it as it means I can keep up lol - and yes I am blonde !!!

Anyway, now have Cap 1 and MBNA ( A+L) CC's accepted my DMP.
The lovely A+L CC at 0% with all late fees etc removed - awesome

Just waiting to hear from Natwest for my OD £2.5k and my A+L loan £7k

I am also trying to reclaim my charges from Natwest - does anybody know if an accepted DMP is proof of financial hardship ? They have sent me a SOA to fill in but can I just send them a copy of my CCCS one ?

Can I also ask how you all know how long you will be paying for or your DFD as I don't know how to work it out ?

    Cheers
