    Hey you experienced people,

I sent my DMP stuff back to CCCS yesterday (proof of income, statements etc) and sent all my letters off to the various companies.

How long is it before I will hear back from the companies and CCCS to move things forward?

Also will some creditors try and negotiate a higher payment?

Took CCCS about a week for me. Two of my creditors phoned after receiving the proposal from CCCS and asked if I could possibly pay "just a little bit more". I told them I was paying what I could afford and nothing more and things settled down.

I think it's also good to have an expectation that it wont all be plain sailing. Some creditors ignore the DMP, some phone asking for payment and claim not to have received any documentation, some accept the proposal then add interest, charges and chase up payment anyway. It's all part of the journey.

That's a hell of a result. I'm only two months into a DMP and there's no sign of that happening yet ;)

It's good to know that there is always the possibility of good news in amongst bad to look forward to.

I was taken aback when I first opened the letter, tbh I read the letter over and over again just to be sure I wasn't imagining it ;)

Defo agree on the 'not all plain sailing' part, expect the worst, but that doesn't mean you have to live in misery, just don't expect your creditors to accept (then be delighted when they do!).

I hope I didn't give the impression of living in misery, that certainly was not what I meant, I suppose a degree of realism is perhaps a better way of putting it.

I was miserable when trying to get loans to pay off credit cards to pay the mortgage etc.etc. I am MUCH more stress free and relaxed now. My only regret is I didn't do it years ago.

    Ditto

I have to admit that I would rather have the odd creditor hassling me for an increase in my repayments than the monthly hassle and stress of trying to find enough money to make my contractual minimum repayments.

I now wonder how the hell I ever managed to make my monthly repayments and eat etc before my DMP started.

I understand, but with me agreeing with you, I didn't want it to sound like it was all doom and gloom ahead!

    Hi Guys

I hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend.

Today is 28 days from the day that I served Halifax my Data Removal Notice using the templates provided here, they were told that it would come into force from today 14/05/2010. Today they have continued to call and text message me. My complaint is curerently with the FOS but should I be sending them a further letter to say that they have now broken the rules ?

Just had to post as this situation is making me giggle. I thought I had paid of my NEXT account last month and log online today to see my CCCS payment was 2p less, I guess they had done some sort of recalculation last month. ANywa, I had been doing a bit of saving and because it was such a small balance made an extra payment, taking into account the CCCS payment which I thought would clear it.

So I've decided to let them waste a stamp and see if they send me out a statement for the 2p:rotfl: If they do hopefully I'll be able to pay via internet so it wont cost me,

On another note, for anyone who has a Next Account I had them trying to get me to sign a new credit agreement AGAIN. They tend to send one out when they renew any payment plans in the hope you will sign it, becuase alot of their accounts were set up on the internet and dont have correct paperwork. I have never signed mine and they have never refused the payment plan so just though I'd pass on my experiences.

    S xx
