Just had to post as this situation is making me giggle. I thought I had paid of my NEXT account last month and log online today to see my CCCS payment was 2p less, I guess they had done some sort of recalculation last month. ANywa, I had been doing a bit of saving and because it was such a small balance made an extra payment, taking into account the CCCS payment which I thought would clear it.

So I've decided to let them waste a stamp and see if they send me out a statement for the 2p:rotfl: If they do hopefully I'll be able to pay via internet so it wont cost me,

On another note, for anyone who has a Next Account I had them trying to get me to sign a new credit agreement AGAIN. They tend to send one out when they renew any payment plans in the hope you will sign it, becuase alot of their accounts were set up on the internet and dont have correct paperwork. I have never signed mine and they have never refused the payment plan so just though I'd pass on my experiences.

    S xx

That's interesting, because I have a Next a/c, which I did sign and return a credit agreement for. Now I got another one with a letter that said if I didn't sign, it would put my reduced payment plan in jeopardy. Should I not return it then?

Also, has anyone got a text from 07762 4809646 saying they are getting clients debt free in 1 year without IVA, Debt Management or Loan. They also say, if you are on a DMP,why? Sounds very dodgy to me, what do they do, send round a magician??;)

    Hi

I to received a new credit agreement from Next last month, they said that they needed me to sign this new agreement to enable them to set up a reduced repayment plan. I sent a letter saying that I wouldn't sign this agreement as it breaks the rules of my DMP with CCCS.

I haven't had a reply yet but I'm expecting them to start playing up shortly and when they do I will request a CCA.

    Complete Lies!!!

Creditors do not require any signing of new agreements in order for them to accept reduced payment plans!!!

This is a ploy to get customers with dodgy credit agreements to sign a new "valid" credit agreement, and therefore enforce the debt, possibly through the Courts.

Remember, most pre 2007 Next agreements are unenforceable!!!

Hi I'm new to this thread but I'm a DFW.. I've been in debt for about 10 years (and lots of mania etc) and have been working on debt busting for about 2 years now. Firstly with Dave Ramsey (got rid of my CC's through him) and then via CAP (didn't work that well alas. I wasn't get lots of bad phone calls from the bank till they took over. The stress of the bank's phone calls made me quit with them). I'm paying just under 1/4 of my income in debt per month to get the OD down asap :). Also trying to save for SOS fund on DR (cos it's dipped a bit) and once that's up and I have enough SOS money than the money will go on debt. I am aiming to do the 4k challenge but being a smoker (and not mentally well enough to quit right now though would love to be cig free :)) I spend more on cigs than I do on food .

I live in NE scotland and know where to get stuff cheap locally. I am also a christian and find God provides my needs but not always my wants :t

    Blessings

    hello all ;)

I can't believe it's been nearly a year on my dmp journey.. i've shaved £2500 off the total and seem to have relative peace, give or take the odd phone call and default notice - of which santander want to send me so many I could wallpaper my entire bathroom with them and the attached OFT leaflets.

My job situation has recently changed.. same amount of money but not so far away so have decided to up my payment to CCCS reducing the plan term by 14 months :T hopefully... lol

Not sure if anyone has had this... but i notice that MBNA and Lloyds seem to credit my card account with £1 and then take it off again.. their way of keeping the account open maybe? I daren't ask...

Anyhoo hope you're all well and had a fab weekend so far... always Monday too soon!

my husband is in a debt management plan two of his creditors Halifax cc and Marbles were origionally not charging interest but now they have started to charge interest at l% apparanly because he is able to pay a larger amount for a payment apparently if he could only pay a small amount each month they would be more inclined to freeze interest has anyone any experience of this

MBNA has just written to me giving me a new account number with a new minimum payment amount (which is just slightly below my DMP payment to them). The £1 charge is an administration fee but 'out of goodwill' (their words!) they will deduct it back again.
Loyds TSB on the other hand have just whacked full interest on my account yet for the past six months I have been paying reduced interest. I give up - why do they think I am now able to pay more - banks - they are a law unto themselves

    Dear All,

I am on a DMP and have been for one year in July. I have to admit that learning to budget has been difficult and I haven't quite cracked it yet.....

I currently house-share with a friend (who owns the house so I technically lodge) and I pay her £550 a month for room rent inclusive of bills which are split 50/50. We share food etc. I have lived here for 2 and a half yrs.

I had previously lived alone and am probably saving at least £300 by sharing. I have had a look at spareroom and other flatshare websites and for the area I live in, I am paying at least £100 - £150 more than the average price.
My friend is lovely and allows me to feel like her house is my home but I am seriously considering moving to save the extra money as I am still struggling. Some of this is definitely my own lack of budgeting (which I am working on improving). My DMP is reasonable and I do not want to change the amount as all my creditors are happy with the current payments.

I have about £300 worth of work that needs doing on my car and I feel like I cannot catch up with myself from month to month. I have had friends'/family big birthdays this year and am trying to get by as best I can without showing my lack of cash.

I have wondered about asking for a reduction in my rent but my friend does not know about my DMP. I have kind of alluded to the fact that I am paying my debts off but in a light-hearted way.

I know I have work to do on my own budgeting but am feeling out of control and really do not know what to do for the best. Despite being glad the DMP is up and running, I feel full of despair at the moment.:(

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
