I think I read today that Northern Ireland have introduced the same system as Scotland, If I lived nearer to the Scottish border I would up sticks and chuck on a kilt
it would be worth it for the legal protection, as usual we are well behind the rest.

Not sure why, but yourself and Twitty I always imagine you both being as thick as thieves...
Oy,oy - what is you insinuating here? That we is both stoopid or we is both dishonest???
We're the smart girls. Might be on a DMP but we're sorting it out for the future laddie!
And I think it's just wonderful to be able to 'talk' to so many like-minded souls. Long may this thread continue; to give support but also to provide a little bit of light-hearted nonsense to brighten up the day. :T

Its so awful when I go I want to just wait till I have been paid & do a runner! I dont want to have to give notice as I know for my last weeks they would put me through hell, but dont know how I would stand with that legally
Hey, Icecube, Sorry. I should have replied to you first. I agree with the above posts. Just leave when you have had your holidays. If they contact you just say that you have written down all the things that have gone on, you are very unhappy, and it makes sorry reading. A 'hick' outfit like that, I suspect, don't want bad publicity or a bad reputation in the local community.
Never feel sorry for leaving a terrible situation, it wasn't of your making, and if you can't change it, then don't worry about it. Others will be grateful for your skills and hard work. Again, my best wishes, let us know how you go.
On a lighter note, is it possible to allow for an Arc on a DMP? I have two bowls of water on my kitchen floor and a blizzard has just started...:j:hello::hello::jDMP mutual support thread member 3480 -

A few months ago, there was an item on one of the news channels where a lady was complaining that she couldn't simply order an item from the Next catalogue online without opening a 'credit' account. When she got the invoice for the clothes she bought, she found she had a credit limit of £2,000!! Perhaps doing that has come back to bite Next?
Icecube, I think I'm right in saying that that the local county councils have a fair bit of clout when it comes to running nurseries, especially when it comes to Health and Safety. Surely tired, overworked staff have a far greater impact than, say, giving kids fish fingers with additives in? I don't want to sound flippant at all, (quite the opposite!) but county councils in England, Scotland, Wales and NI have a lot to answer for, considering they hand out the licences for these places to exist in the first place.
It maddens me to think of the money churned in by the owners of these nurseries ( and care homes! ) who treat vulnerable young and old people like commodities to make as much money as they can. Without caring, hard working people like you, they would have NOTHING.
Very best wishes to you, you have really done your best. :T
I have to agree regarding Next- they gave me a massive amount of credit in the same way, and when I was earning good money that wasn't a problem. I have almost repaid my debt with them now but they have been massively disorganised, and yes, I think their overly "generous" credit limits are coming back to bite them- why can't these companies just ask what level you need?
The credit limit should actually be to allow you to order clothes without paying up front, and then return items not needed, but they do it because selling more items makes them money and charging massive amounts of interest also makes them money. But lending money out to boost sales is a parallel to the banks thinking, it's not passing the problem of the economy to the public really, it's starting a merry go round. I broke my mobile sim card the other day and had been meaning to end my contract with 3 anyway. So, I went online and bought a sim only 30 day thingy from vodafone and it was only after completing checkout that I saw the bit which said they would do a credit check - should have thought of that really DOH!
Anyway I waited for the email to say I had failed the check miserably, then got one saying that the credit check had gone smoothly and my new sim card was on its way!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Does anyone know much about offering F&Fs if all your debts are with the same company? I have 3 debts with Metropolitan and was hoping sometime soon to offer a full and final on the smallest of these.
1) Are they likely to accept seeing that I have 2 other debts with them?
2) Would it still be seen by CCCS as favouring one over the other considering they are all Metropolitan and I have no other creditors?
Any advice gratefully received

Are you on a contract then, or did they still want to run a credit check for PAYG?
Weird you passed - but good! Wonder what exactly they're checking for then?0 -

Mine was for a 30 day sim only contract as I didn't want to be tied to anything for another 18 months.
Maybe they don't routinely credit check everyone, or perhaps only look for CCJS etc?
Either way, I'm really happy with my new deal and its £10 a month cheaperDebt free Olympic Contender # 134DMP Mutual Support Thread member # 250DMP March 2010 [STRIKE]£9786 [/STRIKE] now £9900
