  • Your get there Hazel,

I found the 1st few weeks setting up the DMP then getting all the letters out, then waiting for the replies of which i'm waiting on 1 tough but its so worth it in the end.
  • Humppph just as i thought things were going well, i get a letter from the CCCS, saying that RBS are now NOT accepting my DMP due to a query on the budget. I have previously recieved a letter from them saying they will accept.
Has anyone had an experience of this. i thought it was all going well and bang they do this!!!

    I feel like throwing up. :-( x

    Hi everyone

I had a phone call tonight from Nationwide Debt Recovery, working for Very.co.uk. I owe them almost £500.

I told her i would be writing to them with regards DMP, and she said that NDR won't/can't accept token payments, but if NDR sell the debt on (which she said they will soon if i don't pay) then the DCA will be able to accept my DMP request.

Bearing in mind i haven't even wrote to NDR or Very yet, what is she talking about??

I asked her what does it matter? I thought NDR were a DCA so why would they sell it on again?

    confused!

edit - just remembered that she actually said NDR could put the account "on hold" IF i provde them with a reference number from CCCS or CAB - when i told her i will be self administrating my DMP she told me there's nothing they can do for me without a reference number from one of the above!! Why?!

    Hi,
I'm in about £11,000 of debt and currently in a debt management plan. I'm not with any of the charities and before everyone has a go at me for using a company that charge me... my reason is that the CCCS did not think i should have a DMP because most of my income is my student grants. Everytime i spoke to someone they would be pushing me to go bankrupt. This is not what I want. Also, between each appointment I would have to wait a few weeks before i could speak to someone again. With the company that i use, they had my plan set up within days, and i can speak to someone as soon as i pick up the phone. i know they are making money from me, but so far i have been happy to pay it as it stopped the harrassment and the letters etc. i have been able to sleep for the first time in years
anyway thats not what my post is about.
i'm about to move house in april, out of my parents house and in with my partner. i have been considering cancelling my dmp plan and setting it up myself, so obviously i am paying back more debt as I'm not paying anyone else to deal with it. the reason i dont want to do it till i move house is because i was always scared of my parents seein my post and me puttin them in an early grave if they knew how much debt i was in.
has anyone managed their own debt management plan? How do you go about it and how easy are the creditors to deal with about doing this yourself?
    my creditors are-

    HSBC (Metropolitan)
    Mint (Newman)
    Egg (direct and legal services)
    MBNA
    Halifax
    Wescott

    any advice much appreciated
    thanks

Have put this post here to see if everyone who has there own plan going has any advice. Cheers

Hi, i got a call from CCCS yesterday saying the very same thing! Not from RBS tho, one of the catalogues! Last budget was done in October, payments all sent as normal since then and now, 5months later, someone's questioning a budget item - which has been there the entire 18months of the DMP!! Argh!!!

  • Hi all!!
Wondered if anyone could help?? Barclays have basically said thanks but no thanks to my dmp. This came after months of ignoring my letters and continuing to charge me. My problem now is that three payments have been sent to them by the cccs, but they're not showing in the account! I've written to them asking where this money is, the cccs have confirmed that it has not been returned to them, but again they just seem to be ignoring me:mad: I've just posted another shall we say strongly worded letter saying that if they don't respond with a satisfactory reply then I shall make a formal complaint! Has anyone else had this problem??? What do I do next?? I really want to pay my debts but am starting to think that its never going to happen when you try your best then hit a brick wall!! Even if they're not accepting the money, shouldn't it have been returned to the cccs? It just seems to have dissapeared! I just feel like tearing my hair out.
Sorry to drone on, just feel stuck :(

  • Haven't posted here for a while - a good sign as things have been going well. But ... I got my Barclaycard statement today and noticed that they have increased the interest rate from 6% to 12% - with no warning at all. Has anyone else had something like this hapen, and if so what did you do. Thanks PP

Tell me about it!! The same day I got a default from Crap west, I also got a jolly little letter from the branch with the logo "here to help" offering me loan facilities- what drugs do the banks take please?

My experience is that the banks are the most aggressive, and least willing to accept DMP's. Crap west were never helpful at all with me- the manager was [probably as useful as a crocheted condom, and since my DMP started a year ago they've continued to "help" by adding interest and charges. Actually is there still any mileage in approaching the Ombudsmans office re financial hardship?
