Ah yes, i've had that wonderful and informative letter from collections myself. Morons.
You're doing the right thing. The collections dept are useless at the best of times for offering advice, and you feel like you're fighting a losing battle. Give it 8 weeks from the time they receive the letter, then contact the FOS. Someone needs to tell you what the !!! is going on with your account. In the meantime, write to as many lloyds address's as you can with the please stop interest letter. Someone's got to listen.DFD February 2012

Don't stress hun. It's all part of the process, after a while, you'll learn to ignore the defaults. The creditors very rarely take you to court as far as i'm concerned. It costs them too much to do it. And you're doing the right thing. Your dealing with the debt. And if it ever does come to that (doubt it will though!), a judge will just look at your income and expenditure and make sure you're paying as much as you can. Basically what CCCS has done.
It is stressful, but you do learn to deal with it as time goes on.
Just keep at it, and remember you are doing the right thing!DFD February 2012

Can only reply for me have been on DMP since Oct 2007 so onto my 3rd year........nothing have been remotely hinted about court. I would try not to worry, I know easier said than done, I suppose I still worryyou're paying what you can, the creditors will hopefully see that in due course and things will settle down.
My creditors are N/R (loan, just in the process of getting back PPI all been agreed, just awaiting payment of over £10K which will reduce loan to £6K), egg, Abbey, MBNA Cahoot Lloyds (banked with them for over 20 years and they have been the worst and continue to be the worse of my creditors, all the others have frozen interest, after the initial telephone hassle but not these sh%%ts:mad: . Had loan (got PPI paid so that has gone from £11+K to just over £5K, have CC and odraft with them also.....wish to God I never banked with them). Well on the road to paying things off and God Willing if their continue to freeze interest I shall be free of this noose that is around my neck sooner than I anticipated. I'm also trying to put some money aside from housekeeping to pay off with F&F MBNA and Abbey as both are just touching the 2K mark.
I would advice if you have PPI to reclaim, it's a bit of a long road, have taken me over a year with both NR and Lloyds, but well worth it.
Don't worry, keep positive for your baby.

Proud to be dealing with my debts

has anyone had any experience of American Express on a DMP, just setting up my husbands DMP, having been on one for myself for just under a year, most of my creditors have been great and frozen interest so just wondering how American Express might react as I have no experience of them Thanks0

I have a number of creditors, including Amex. They're now my smallest creditors with a debt of just £750ish (maybe they noticed from the start my problems with debt). They defaulted immediately (along with Egg) and passed to RMA Resolve. They offer me F&Fs occasionally, but can't afford to do anything at the mo.
So, in short, although my debt with them is small, they have been brill.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

Um, I wouldn't necessarily say that a judge will side with you every time. You never know, so please err on the side of caution!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hello everyone  It's been a while since I popped in here
All's going really well with my DMP ... I can't believe it's been a full two years now!
M&S are my biggest creditor - I started my DMP owing them about £10,000 but they've been brilliant, quickly accepting the DMP for 12 months at a time. I've just had confirmation that they're accepting it for a third year.
:j
Good luck to everyone just starting out on their DMP.gabriella90 wrote: »wow thats Fab,
Have they stopped your interest? Passed you onto a DCA or defaulted you, or just carried on the DMP?
Well done its my 1st month of my DMP Payments have gone 2 /3 accepted.:T
No, the account's not been defaulted. Instead, it's been 'suspended' while on the reduced payments. Interest has been frozen (right from the start) and it's still with M&S, not a DCA.
Good luck with yoursDebt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.
Dealt with my debt through a Step Change (CCCS) DMP.

AMEX accepted by DMP immediately but to do so, they defaulted the account and passed it to RMA Resolve.
I'd been under the impression from Amex that interest had stopped immediately but this wasn't quite the case.
Apart from the original letter from RMA Resolve confirming that my account had been passed to them - Amex had already told me this - I'd heard nothing from them except for them writing to me offering the chance of a discounted F&F settlement.
As the balance quoted differed significantly from my records, I wrote to RMA Resolve asking for confirmation of my payments and any charges. I eventually had to send a SAR request to get this information - and interest had been charged for a few months and then stopped.
Since doing the SAR, I've not heard anything more from them but I do intend contacting them about every six months to request a latest statement. Hopefully this won't involve a SAR every time!Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***

Hi ianmak
Was intrigued by your post and 'offering F & Fs.' Is this normal? I'm not in a position to use F&Fs but hope one day I might-I was always under the impression it was something you had to haggle and fight over. Or is it just you have nice creditors?
