  • Sorry Bobby, don't have a number as they phoned the OH. You could always try their HO and they must have a complaints procedure on there, so you could write and tell them of the whole sorry story and see if you can get someone to take notice that way.

Firsly congrats on your new addition. Unfortunately you're still in the early stage of things with regards to your creditors, so calls etc is the norm. This will get better, it took about 5 months with my creditors before things settled.

Surprised you have already received defaults. I received my first after 2 years on DMP  but looking ahead for you this might be a good thing as your default will fall off quicker.

So hang in there, calls etc will stop once your creditors realise you're trying to pay back your debt. Good luck..

    Thank you for your reply

Would your suggestions with Lloyds be then to ring them up? If so, any idea which department I should request speaking to? WHen I've spoken to general advisors who you get through to when you first ring, they have been unaware of the block on my account (took about 10 advisors to work this out) so would rather not be passed from department to department. Similaraly, I doubt they'd have the power to freeze interest and just gurgle out some company spiel!

    thanks

    hi

Is your Lloyds account with collections?

    Hi

I am not sure. The only letter I have received from them was a pretty standard one saying keep up payments on the credit card but we won't freeze interest (nothing about the debit account). Also I do not think I have received a default notice from them. I decided to write a letter to both HSBC and LLoyds complaints department as they have not properly responded to the letters I have sent in the last 6 weeks

that's good. With regards to Lloyds - don't have anything with HSBC sorry - follow there complaint procedure, also send the letter to the Customer Service Recovery Centre, if you don't hear anything from them (did you send it recorded delivery) within 8 weeks, forward your complaint the FOS.
If your account is not with collections, there should be no reason why your local branch shouldn't be able to assist you. They usually can't help you only if your account is with collections.
Was there not a number/contact details on the letter they sent you?

  • hi all, just one more question. I am terrified of being taken to court by the creditors. Do you find this happens often. How long does it usually take for the 'getting to court' stage?

I sent the letter straight to the Customer Service Recovery Centre. The previous letters I had sent were to general Lloyds TSB addres, and then to Lloyds TSB Collections Post Team.

The reply I got from the Collections Post Team was the 4 line letter saying they'd not freeze interest or charges.

The letters I sent them referenced both my acounts (both in the title and body of the letter) yet their reply only referenced the credit card - an Airmiles duo account.

The account I am having the payment problem with is a Lloyds TSB graduate account. I originally got the account 2 years ago due to the overdraft. At the time of opening it, I was not told that I would have to pay my wages into this account so did not. After about 3 months some sort of freeze was put on the account and since then have made neither payments to or from that account. This account was included in my DMP so payments have been made to it since November via the CCCS but none of these are debiting and interest is being charged on it (I have confirmed with the CCCS that they have the right details)
