  • Hi all, I'm a DMPer too, and have been for around 3 years... although it is with a company that take fees etc (yes I know - stupid...) I am getting there and plan to work hard to pay it off sooner too and then - responsibly - rebuild my credit rating.

As a point to girlypink, my credit report shows 'AP' next to my creditors who are being paid on the DMP
  • Hi just wanted to ask some advice i am starting a self admin DMP next month and sent out all my letters to creditors last month with token payments and have heard back from noone apart from abbey who we have a loan with who demanded the full payment and didnt even acknowledge my letter or token payment?? what do i do about this??
My husband and i have finally had our LBM and are ready to deal with our debts!! Not for ourselves but for our beautiful daughter and her little sister who is due to appear May 2010. :o

  • Hello again everybody,
we are having some ups and downs with our new dmp as the title suggests so just updating you all. Had acceptance letters from the dreaded northern rock :jcould'nt believe it!! They have accepted for 1 year and will then review again, halifax being a bit odd, no formal dmp acceptance but will accept £1 token payment for 3 months on 1 account but 6 months on another  when cccs offer is £85 per month on one and approx £50 on the other :( am confused!!! Nationwide being complete idiots, accepted offer of payment but only if paid immediately and monthly by normal statement due date  spent over half an hour on the phone to them trying to explain this not possible due to cccs payment dates but they were having none of it and were suggesting I make 2 payments this month????!!!! I declined their offer so I guess they will now decline mine :p. Santander sort of accepting letter says they have been contacted by a 3rd party, will accept for 6 months but charges 'may' apply?? No other acceptances yet from the rest although mint and nat west have acknowledged the letters so we will wait and see!! Shop direct just slapping charges on left, right and centre as are horrible EGG  even though egg getting high offers for repayment compared to the rest. Oh well thats enough for now, hope u are all ok, will update again soon, any comments appreciated :D

  • just to add mint have added interest and charges of almost £200 in one month!!!!!!!!!!!!This has now caused the credit limit to be exceeded and today they have issued a default notice, how lovely of them ; ) Argos have'nt formally accepted but latest statement shows minimum payment required same as cccs offer, interest not stopped : ( wish these people would just co-operate.

  • I am sooo with you Crispy, lloyds and Bof S are currently ignoring us and sending statements as usual, don't they realise that they will never get their money if they force us into BR? Surely better if they co-operate and we get it paid which we were managing to do until they jacked the interest rate sky high. Sorry rant over

Hello, would like to join you guys :o

Started a DMP with CCCS in September 2005 with debts of around £180,000. We should dip under £100,000 this year :T DFD is currently November 2016.

I'm not very good at cutting back and so haven't been throwing money at the debts as I would *like* to. However we have managed to increase the payments gradually.... despite not having had a payrise for 4 years

I was made redundant again in November last year. Have been interviewing like mad and have been told that I will get a job offer by the end of this week :T I been using my 'time off' to declutter and concentrate on money saving! I'm hoping to have a little left from my redundancy to throw at my debts, but likely to be only a few hundred - ho-hum, every little helps.

    Thanks for being there :D

  • hi lozzam, it's great to have u on board to share your dmp experiences!! As you may have read from my previous couple of posts our journey has only just started and is a bit bumpy at the moment, just hope everything settles down soon or else we'll never pay off the debt mountain we've got with charges and interest being whacked on by the second  looks like you are doing ok though :D, keep posting with your experiences/advice. Thanks crispy ;)

Hi I am another DMPer that would like to join this very movitivating thread. I have been on a DMP for 18mths and still owe £40k and already got one CCJ!! But reading through the postings makes me feel I am not alone as I have felt the last 18mths.
Thanks to you all for being here, even though the circumstances are not the best
