Hi, well things have been ticking along nicely here - out of the blue today from Cabot Financial who have brought my £15K Egg debt. They've asked me to call them which I am happy to do - they can have what I was paying Egg and no more.

Does anyone have any tips please?

I have 2 Egg accounts - assume the other one for £1K has alos been sold on too - but I will ask when I call.

    Thanks

Well! Just came off the phone to a lovely chap at Cabot who called on the back on my internet proposal submissions. Accepted both payments for my 2 Egg accounts quite happily, no interest to be charged. We shall see what the future brings but I very happy! :T:T

Will take a few deep breathes now as I was all geared up for a fight!! :D

For info I am paying £109.50 for 16K.

Hi there, well Barclays have started calling me again!

Please could someone send me a link to the template letter for getting them to stop calling me.

This is really starting to bring me down and it was all going so well! (In a nutshell, for those who don't know, they keep saying they haven't heard from Payplan).

    Many thanks, CC

Each time this happened to me I asked PayPlan to resend the info (they send it by fax and I got the creditor to supply a number). For some this took for or five attempts, but we got there in the end!

That must be such a relief for you. I am so glad that they accepted your proposal.

I don't understand why these companies have to be so stroppy with people who are trying to pay them back; it's not like we're trying to wriggle out of it afterall

Hi All, it's a long time since I've posted but thought I would let you all know that I am now the proud owner of a charging order from the lovely Northern Rock!

To be completely honest it really hasn't phased me one bit, all it means is that when we decide to sell and move on, they'll get their money back and we'll no longer have the debt. We have enough equity in our house at the moment to cover it, so personally feel there's no need to panic.

Anyway, now in to our second year with CCCS and we're happier than we've been in a long time and we can see our debt reducing monthly.

Good luck to all of the new starters, you're definitely on the right path.

    Happy New Year

Glad you're not unhappy about this. Didn't they agree DMP? did you get a CCJ before they went down the C/O route? Reason for all the question is because I have a loan with N/R 2 years 3 months in still accepting DMP, so would like to know, if possible, what made them go down the C/O route with you.

    Thanks MM2:D

    Hi all,

Happy new Year! Back at work today. Hope you all had a lovely Xmas and New Year and that your 2010 has got off to a good start!

Will catch up tomorrow, but just wanting to update you! I've had my 1st annual DMP review and due to wages and bill arrears finally being paid off I've managed to skim 8 months of our DFD!!! Result! And hopefully each year we'll take more off! Can't be bad and feeling pretty good about the year ahead.

So DFD is now May 2013 instead of Jan 2014!!!! Yay!

I really couldn't pinpoint anything. They wouldn't accept the amount offered to them from the outset. We've a loan of approx £22k and originally paid back £145, which went down to £65 on the dmp. We've since been able to double our payments to CCCS but none of this stopped them.

They then applied for the CCJ which was obviously granted and then they went for the Charging Order.

I must say though all in all they've been really helpful in other ways and have infact reduced our interest rate on our mortgage so that we can pay the loan off along with our mortgage at the same amount our mortgage was on it's own. So we're now paying the CCJ via CCCS for £65 and we're also paying the loan off via NR. We checked all of this out with CCCS before we went ahead and as the payment to NR is the same as our mortgage was on it's own they said we should go for it as it doesn't mean NR are being favoured over another creditor.

Anyway, I hope my waffle makes sense!

We're actually hoping to move in the next couple of years so fingers crossed the whole loan with NR will be gone then anyway.

Thanks for your full and informative reply. I too was very interested as I have a loan of approx £8000 with NR. They accepted the DMP, no problems, with a 6 month review (but still charging me interest!)
Just goes to show that there isn't any rhyme nor reason to creditors actions.
Good luck for the future and hope if you move your new home and a debt free life fulfills your expectations.
