DMP Mutual Support Thread (Part 6)

Haha of course my old pals on the DMP thread will be invited to my house to collect a cheque if I win :j:rotfl:
Things were going well here; no word from majority of creditors so it was easy to forget the current situation most days. However I had to listen to the women in my office today go on about Thomas Cook being cheaper than Thomson and where they are going for their holidays etc. I wanted to scream at them to shut up, it isn't there fault for my situation but as you can imagine with an OH climbing the walls at home wanting to work holidays in the sun was the last thing I wanted to listen to!
I am staying positive, OH is obviously delighted that the pressure to find this months payment is off, he is already concentrating on next months. Maybe I just feel a tad worried because it has always been me who has dealt with the letters to creditors etc since day one?
Anyway enough about me, how are you? Are majority of your creditors ok with you doing the DMP or do you find it more hassle? Would you go back to CCCS?DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -
Just a big thank you for all the fantastic advice. I have a good idea of where to start now and opened the new bank account today so first step is to transfer all the DD's and then once the SOA is finalised send out the letters. It is all a bit scary but feels so much better than sitting back and watching things get worse, Thanks again. I am sure I will be a regular poster and lurker in the coming year lol !Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

It's early days for me, Ive only made one payment since taking it over myself, so far I've just had letters asking for me to contact them to go over budget info etc. Northern Rock said that the reduced payment was not "agreed" and therefore would only go to reduce the debt:rolleyes:
Not sure what they were trying to get at there, surely thats what I want to happen
Anyway I'm just going to carry on as normal and they can accept it or do ther worst.
It is more hassle but not too much as yet anyway.
I can't see me going back to cccs, though they did say I could within 6 months if I needed to.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -

I notice there is a lot of newbies on here and I know how nice it was in the beginning to have others give me advice on debt so I know I should be here more.
I always feel concious that I overtake the thread when I am on here with my problems, mind you when you read someone else's it takes your mind off your own
Nice to see your signature debt reducing Ian :T

Hi,
I'm a very irregular poster on here - I started my DMP with the CCCS in 2006.
I phoned CCCS tonight and did my annual review, due to a job change for me and a drop in wages plus no tax credits until my next review due to over payment I've not been able to increase it, Only 5 years to go!

morning everyone,
i`ve just been looking at a few threads and notice that some people have gotten taken to court or ccj`s against them while on their dmp:mad:
if this happens,do you physically have to go to court? or is it done via paperwork being sent out to you,
many thanks and hope you are all doing well,
