Glad to see the LLoyds debacle has been resolved (sort of). Let us know how you get on with your MP and letter to Lloyds CEO!

Keep fighting the good fight! :)

    Regards,

    Wayne

I've also have Lloyds Credit card, O/D and loan.......O/D all interest stopped, always for 6 months at a time though (been on DMP for just over 2 years). Loan, still incurring charges, but put in claim for PPI, after a year still fighting the b%%ast%:mad:, but not giving up. Credit card, although accepted DMP payment continues to add interest....so would be interested to see how you get on MC and maybe there's hope for us all who have Lloyds as creditors.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

  • hey there all newbie here i am starting my dmp and have been very nervous about the whole thing. I have never missed any payments to my creditors but i know it is going that way soon. So i have rung a dmp provider who is taking up my caase hubby is so very not happy he didnt raealise what a mess i was in but he does now. He is worried mainly about losing the house, Plus dmp provider sent out a letter (standard letter) that explains all the possible letters ect you can get from creditors he saw baliffs and ccjs and flipped. I have spoken to my dmp ad they have said that that is mainly for people who have missed payments ect for a long time. I am scared about this whole process and cant quite see the light yet did many of you feel this way

Hi all, I've just done the preliminary stages of a DMP with the CCCS, after taking advice from here and stearing clear of the sharks that were trying to charge me for the same service.

(I have to say though, if it hadn't been for Fresh Start Finance I would probably still not even know of the existence of such a service, since it was their call that got me looking on here).

I have 6 payday loans, totalling around £2.5k...all from when I wasn't making much money, snowballing to an ammount where the 'rollover' interest fees cost me almost my entire wage, without the principal ever going down.

Now, according to my Remedy Plan, I can pay out around £260/month to creditors and will be debt free in 10 months.

Starting this just in time for christmas too, so I won't actually be skint starting from next friday.

This is the first time I've felt in control in a long time.
  • hi gwon hope this all goes ok for you hun i feel in control most of the time to its my hubby who is apposed to it all he cant seem to get his head around it all.

Question those of you who are dealing with lloyds have you missed payments to them???

Good luck to you two! Who are you doing your plan with? One of the charities?

Can't answer your lloyds question...but it's who I bank with, and I may be switching, as they never strike me as very proffesional (I was actually in a Lloyds yesterday to change address, and the guy left me standing for FIFTEEN minutes, while he took a call on his personal mobile phone).
  • I currently bank wth lloyds and as they are going on my plan i have moved to natwest. Not going with one of the charities doing it with dfh which i am happy with

Finished my xmas shopping yesterday!! yay! But also bought tickets for pearl jam at hard rock calling which because of stupid unreasonable charges were pretty expensive! Obviously this had to come out of money saved for xmas! And as it was only yesterday and I only transfered money from savings over this week, not everything in my account is up to date and I have no idea how much money I actualy have! Eek!! Fingers crossed my (rough) sums were right and I've got enough money for the month!

Ooh, ooh, I'd love some of that, not sure on my finances though...

Please note how much they charge though, and be aware that you're debt could be paid off quicker going with one of the charities...

This is invaluable advice. One quick online application through the CCCS has saved me £300 setup fees, 17.5% monthly interest, and has shaved MONTHS off my total time till debt free.

I'd be very careful about making a double payment. It could work or on the other hand you could find them saying if you can afford to pay double once you can afford it every month even if it is a struggle. Personally I wouldn't do it, but I can also understand why you'd be tempted to in the hope they would stop the charges.

Maybe you could write to them & make the suggestion of a double payment as long as they confirm in writing they wouldn't then expect that monthly as you cannot possibly afford it & that the charges would stop. Tell them that the money would be from a friend or family member.

This is a very good point!!! It's tempting but probably better to just ride it out! Annoying tho, coz it feels like you can't win either way!
