Hi All,
Still no letters from any creditors although I had my first 'automated' call from Barclaycard this morning which seemed to fail after saying something along the lines of "this is an important call for [my name]"...then it just went quite! LOL
I've had a bit of good luck for a change too!
I entered a competition a few weeks back and out of over 60 applicants I have been short-listed for a public vote! If I get the most votes I win a top of the line Android mobile phone!!!
If anyone is interested in voting then click on the following link - you don't have to sign up or enter any details, you just have to hit the voting button after making your choice. My idea is the "SecondLife/GoogleMaps mashup"
http://layar.com/vote-for-best-layar-engagement-idea/
I'll update again when I hear anything back from CCCS or creditors. I'll also update my blog.
Cheers,

Dear
Firstly my apologies for our failure to reply to your earlier communication.
We take complaints against our company seriously and we are very happy to look into this. We note that you stated on a public forum;
a) One of our staff stated that the matter was, ‘an emergency’.
We can find no record of our staff having a lengthy call with you. Notes suggest that on being connected you yourself terminated the call. (NOT TRUE I DIDN'T ANSWER BECUASE OF THE NUMBER OF TIMES YOU CALLED) Do you have the date and time of this specific call? (YES I DO) We would then be able to search our records and listen to the actual call.
In addition, (see below), was it definitely 1st Credit? We outsourced this account to a third party when we failed to obtain a response to our letters/calls and it is possible it was this company, not ourselves?
b) That we call over 6 times per day during the week and at weekends.
This is impossible. Our automated dialler cannot do this. I have checked dialler records and it shows the following calls were made. 8 times in 10 months. (RUBBISH)
You may note that no calls at all were made between March to November. The account had been outsourced during this period.
can't show you next bit as has my telephone number
We are able to obtain a statement from our dialler company to substantiate that the statement you have made is completely false. (THIS IS NOT TRUE, I NEVER MADE A FALSE STATEMENT)
We trust therefore that you will amend your post or put a disclaimer on this forum confirming that your original statement was incorrect. If you are being called numerous times it is not 1st Credit calling you.
Finally, the debt is in respect of an MBNA Credit Card, ).
Individuals requesting a ‘True Copy’ of their credit agreement are obliged to make a payment of £1.00. We have not received this payment and therefore are not obliged to provide a copy until you do so. However, as a gesture of goodwill I have requested a copy for you.
Please e.mail me or telephone me should you wish to discuss the matter. Please be assured that I am rather a polite individual and you would be spoken to courteously in respect of this matter.

Afternoon everyone :hello:
Just finished my 35 hour 3 day working stint so today is the day I deal with paperwork/letters/DMP stuff etc as well as housework yawn.
Hope you are all well and things are ticking over nicely. Warm Welcome to new members too.
LMS how's everything going with you? I just saw your post on the CCCS thread, I wouldnt worry about the default notices at all, 6 months ago I would have panicked. Just file them away and forget them. You are doing all you can.
I still get threatening letters...the last one a few days ago from my friends at Barclaycard/Mercers/WhateverOtherNameTheyDealUnder which asked me if I could pay 2K within 7 days and then they would write the rest off......6K debt.
Yeah right! I WISH!!!! Sadly I don't have a money tree in the garden which has 2K hanging from it.
Those sorts of letters are never nice but they send them anyway to put the pressure on.
My news is.......as I said before my DMP is starting on the 1st Jan.
So I havent even sent my first payment yet to the CCCS but today I received my first acceptance of the DMP from Abbey/Santander credit card!!!! (albeit for 6 months) but it's a start eh! Plus they have stopped charges!!!
1 down, 11 to go!!!
Black Horse/Barclaycard/Alliance&Leicester continue to charge  but the letter above made my day!
Right, that's enough waffle. Sending you all a big hello and warm wishes.
Keep in touch!
Bailey, where are you hun? Did your welcome pack come yet? I'm not sure when to send the money....I dont have it yetbut wondered if it had to reach them by the 1st or if a day or 2 after that would be ok?
Speak soon,

Good to hear from you Northstar! You must be thrilled at your acceptance letter - I remember how I felt that day I got the first one! :T
I'm still freaking out about the MBNA default, but it has reduced a little. At the end of the day I am (as you say) paying all I can. Must try not to stress. Things going OK here, apart from MBNA and the stress of xmas! Started at Sainsburys yesterday and it was fine, steep learning curve and at times I wanted to run away :rotfl:but I did fine. Back tonight. There's another guy started with me, Ian - he's lovely and I didn't feel like such a plank because he made mistakes too - so that was better! By 10pm we'd finished what we had to do and spent the last half hour of our shift sitting on potato crates chattingMaybe the MBNA thing is just getting to me with the stress of christmas coming up, just started a new job and I'm shattered from last night! It's emotionally very draining.
I think also the default took me by surprise as they haven't beens ending any letters or calling asking for money, which they used to all the time.
Well I better get a move on I suppose, the washing won't do itself!I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -
Great to hear the job is going well! Think of the pay packet!
Yes the acceptance is great.....but I wondered if they made a mistake because I havent even sent my first payment yet, then I realised that obviously the CCCS have to get the ball rolling dont they.
The ones that worry me are BarclaysLoan, Barclaycard, Black Horse and Alliance&Leicester. Let's see!
Enjoy your work. It is a good feeling knowing you are doing something to help. And if you have any snow up there please send it down here, my girls are moaning because we never get any!!!!:rotfl:

I got acceptances before my first payment too. I think they accept/reject as soon as they are told by CCCS what they will be getting.
I get my first pay on Jan 1st - what a nice start to the year! Shame I'll have to throw it all straight on bills. :rotfl:
We never get snow anymore! Not usually at least until Jan, just lots of frost lately. :eek:xxI'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -
Has anyone got any debt with Halifax and got to the point where they are paying their minimum payment or more via the DMP. I am nearly at this point and worried they will start charging the full amount of interest again, its currently on a reduced rate.
If they did it would be a major pain as I am starting to make small inroads, at last.
Thoughts appreciated
Sx
Hi, we had £24k debt with Halifax, they upped it to £30k overnight when they realised we were going into a DMP and decided to put all the interest on in a lump sum. They then had the cheek to charge my OH and I seperate fees of £25 EACH for late payment, even though the DMP payment is £440 and the original payment was £401. We even got put back into 'collections' and they were calling us day and night.
So we have had dealings with them, never again!!!
At least now they are off the case and have finally shut up! Hopefully if you are already on a reduced rate, you may find them more sympathetic, I really hope so.
Good Luck to you

HI All
Well after 5 years of fighting, paying off £9500 of a £12000 loan, only to see the balance at £11000 at this day, due to their !!!!!!! interest and other charges, it looks like the bullies, Lloyds TSB, are finally passing on the debt to a debt collection agency, where we can get the interest stopped and finally start paying off this thing. In the meantime, this week, i've wrote to my MP, the chief exec of Lloyds, and the financial ombudsman. I know they have a right to not cancel interest, but they also have a duty to help in a difficult financial situation.
I hate them, and really need to get the word out there about lloyds, especially if you're having financial difficulties and especially if your going onto a DMP.
And another thing, never rely on payplan, cccs etc to do any of this for you. Yes they help with other things, but it's up to you to fight your creditors on charges, interest etc. Your debt, your responsibility. This is what we've learnt. And keep at it. Otherwise you could end up paying £1000's in wasted money.DFD February 2012

Hi everyone,
Inaltofdebt, How creepy was that correspondence? (id card, anyone?) In a way it would be a good thing if the companies actually read these pages! HALIFAX!!!!!
Saskia, Well done, I would love a bargain from Coast too!
Now, Geoffmr1, As Robert de Niro says to Billy Crystal in Analyse this, 'You! You! You're good you!' I've read lots of interesting posts from you in the last few pages. I can only hope that one day we will be in the position to make FFO's, it's fascinating stuff!
Twitty, Hey wee woman! Have had my sprouts on a 'low light' since Feb. They should be up to the boil any day soon...
Enjoying all the posts, as usual, very best wishes to all,

Glad to see the LLoyds debacle has been resolved (sort of). Let us know how you get on with your MP and letter to Lloyds CEO!
Keep fighting the good fight!
