  • Hi Everyone,

Not a good day today, well , not tragic if you look at the bigger picture, one of those 1 step forward 2 step back sort of days :(

Under a lot of pressure at work then today had a call from the CCCS regarding our DMP due to start on the 1st. They need me to contact my council to check some things about council tax and get back to them. I tried not to panic (only because of the time sensitive thing, really want to get started on the 1st Dec).....came home from work, straight on the phone to my council, 8th in the queue, 20 minute wait....to be told they cant help me over the phone, I need to fill something in. Can't fax it, I have to send it. Then it's a 5 day turn around before I get the info needed, then I can inform the CCCS. This info will also have an effect on the amount we pay every month. They said they dont allow a DMP if your debt is going to take 20 years or more to clear. Ours was meant to be 17 years 9 months. This new figure could change it now. :(( Gutted really. Even though I have no idea what will happen of course, it could all be ok.

Soooo, as I usually do when I am overtired and stressed, I downloaded the form straight away, filled it in (meanwhile my girls were wondering why steam was coming out of my ears), filled out an envelope ready, will get OH to post it Special Delivery in the morning so I know they will receive it Thursday, then I have to wait 5 working days for them to respond......he actually said I could phone after 5 days to get the figure needed.

mmmmm can we still make the 1st I wonder. Thinking aloud here. If I phone next Wednesday then phone the CCCS straight away it should be ok for the 1st Dec shouldnt it? they said everything else is fine and is being processed.
I feel a bit sick really though now. It's not the end of the world I know if we start on the 1st Jan.....but really wanted to be in the 1st Dec club with those of you starting soon. :(

Waffling on, sorry, really tired, been working at home for a few hours on top of working 10 hours today, hardly seen my girls so feel a bit %^&* now :(

    Hiya bigmommamuppet,

yes all creditors have stopped interest - no interest being charged on any of them. However ive just had a look and it seems Littlewoods is down to 5 hundred and something now (it was not far short of the 850 limit and paid up to date when I first started) but my Evans card (GE Money) in particular seems not to be moving - still way overlimit despite the offer actually being the same as the minimum payment! But theres definitely no interest applied - I checked :D

  • Morning all thanks for the kind welcome!

I must say 5 yrs doesnt seem too bad considering how long it would have taken without going down the dmp route, all i know is we are never going to allow ourselves to get here again!
Weslhbird and bexychan *waves* hello! its nice to have some people here that are just starting out too, hopefully we'll be able to share our stories and all the bad (and perhaps the good???) times over the next few months!!

I just paid my creditors by bank transfer from my old ac this morning - paying them £1 each seemed so wrong somehow after paying some of them £100+ !!

Has anyone had any hassle from creditors at work? all our phonecalls go through a switchboard in a v busy (and nosy) office and im a little concerned as to how that will affect my job?

    Have a good day everyone

  • Morning everyone, Hope everyone is ok. Big hello to everyone that is new and posted on here recently.

Well I am really tired and stressed out at the moment. Have just about managed to sort all my direct debits out after switching bank accounts but I still cant get on my new account online banking system which is stressing me out as I want to keep tabs on my account. I am supposed to be starting my DMP with the CCCS on the 1st Dec but I had a letter from them yesterday wanting more information about OH's wages. He has been working away so earning more but that looks set to finish next week so last night I had to sort his wage slips out and I have got to send them off to CCCS for them to re-calculate things! So Northstar, again, we are in the same situation. Hopefully if everything else is sorted you will be ok for Dec. The lady at CCCS said it should still go ahead on the 1st but who knows. So I am off to the post office today to send another special delivery letter. This is costing me a small fortune. 4 of my creditors still havent received the recorded delivery letter with the DMP notification letter which I posted on the 3rd Nov! I am going to send copies off today but the PO said I have to wait 15 working days after posting to class the letter as lost.

And today is the day if I find out if I loose my job and am being made redundant. Bosses should be at their meeting by now. _pale_

I have aged by 10 years in the last couple of months let me tell you. I have got right bags under my eyes and I am putting on weight again after I lost it all!!! The stress is making me eat.:o Last night I raided the freezer, found a blackberry and apple crumble and a can of custard in the cupboard and I ate it all!!

  • Hi well here goes again. ITs great to see the support on this thread. I won;t be starting my DMP until Jan due to my circumstances changing then. I'll explain all.

I've been in a bit of a pickle :o and now i've bitten the bullet and called the CCCS. I had my interview today but cannot start the process until i know when my last salary will be. In January my partner and i move to Cyprus as he has a job with the MOD there, unfortuantly it means me leaving my job and possibly not having a job for 2 months hopefully no longer!! This means me going into a DMP as my income will be greatly reduced I won't have any bills and will have £300 a month to cover my transport, phone and other saundries and will have to take my PLan payment from that.

I'm so scared of messing this up. I really hope that my creditors will the interest and charges. Its a pain in the butt as i'm not in the red with payments at the moment.

As i'll be on m'todd i think i'll be on here a lot more and especially once all the letters start going out. Its enough to contend with moving to another country hopefully i won't get too many calls badgering me.

good luck everyone and thank you for letting me ramble on.

    xxx:wink:
  • Thanks you for the welcome everyone as shown me. This forum is going to be my lifeline. Good news had another acceptance letter from one of my loans saying the will accept the proposed payment. So that's three accepting and two not. What i cant understand is the bigger debt that i owe the company's are accepting and the ones i owe under 100 pound too are not. What is that all about?

Anyway. good luck to everyone who has just started their DMP xxx
