DMP Mutual Support Thread (Part 6)

Evening, everyone. Hope you are all ok.
Maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age but what does this mean?
I got letters from both Tesco and Mint just requesting me to supply a signature as my letter to them was unsigned and they cannot "action " my "request". The last letter I sent them was the NDL template saying I was starting with a DMP company and offering my five pound token payment. I'm sure this is usual but just wanted to check.
I don't have a problem supplying a signature as I'll just do a slightly diffeernt one to my normal one, as I've seen poeple mention on here! They asked for a signature when I told them of my change of address too with my first Hold Action letter which at the time I blithely supplied wanting to be co-operative.DMP Mutual Support Thread No 336 - proud to be a number!LBM - June 20th 2009Total of Horror  - [STRIKE]£39,909[/STRIKE] August 2010 £35,421 :jDFD - Feb 2018 (approx). Hi YP, it's simply not true that they need a signature to action your request, so I would really question their motives why they would want one.
Capital One made a similar request to me initially, I ignored it, and they never asked again.
I think they're trying it on, maybe that is me being cynical;)DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -
I haven't given any of my creditors a signature.DMP member 343 :T

Hi Kudox and Circling the Drain,
The phrases are - "I have received a letter regarding your account. The letter was not signed and as a result I am unable to undertake the action requested" and either I can sign the letter and return it or "telephone to request that we carry out your instructions" on their incredibly expensive 0870 number, according to Tesco. I don't even know what my instructions are! I'm assuming it's to credit the postal order; I also asked in the same letter that they freeze interest and charges but I don't think they'll be doing those very readily! They have been phoning and phoning and I'm just going to carry on as I was and write to give my Payplan reference no, I've spoken to all the other creditors now and just can't be doing with it, quite frankly.

Let them do what thay like YP, as you say let PP deal with it.
What they said in the letter was exactly what Cap One said to me, I ignored it and they actioned my request anyway.
If the calls are getting too much send the telephone harassment letter which is kicking around here somewhere, when I first started out I didn't answer the phone for months!DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -

Just wanted to say Hi and well done to everyone on here, you're all doing so well! Congrats JOJ!!
Cloudy-day - Well done to you for making the first step and for posting on here it'll be the best thing you have done. We have shed loads of debt with a DFD of a million years away, but in feb this year we too took the plunge annd on April 1st made our first DMP payment. . . . . . .our lives are now 100% better.
I konw you're not feeling great at the moment and worrying about all sorts...when we started the ball rolling I cried for days, my head was spinning I had so much going on. We too have a loan with NR and there are some real horror stories on here regarding them, I made the mistake of reading them all and was convinced that they were going to make life difficult for us, but I couldn't have been more wrong! NR were the first to accept our DMP payment and we've not heard a peep from them since.
Keep positive, you will stop worrying soon and you will start to see that little light at the end of the long tunnel that we all start to catch a glimpse of at the start of our DMP journeys.
Take care my fellow DMP'ers
MD xx
You have put a lump in my throat now! :rotfl:
What an inspirational post.

You are all so kind. I am still not quite sure what to do now....
Dont forget, get them to take off your numbers and deal with you only in writing. It will save any problems with dreading the phone ringing. It may also save your sanity. These creditors are very good at making you feel pretty rubbish. I almost pity their customer services advisors who have targets to meet.
You are all on the right path, dont stray, keep talking to each other as I think this site is probably better than any other advice you may get, on good days and bad. You didnt ask to be in debt although life deals pretty rubbish hands sometimes in order to promote us to spend just to live. We are in the middle of a credit crunch and when we are out the other side and the world returns to normal you will all be able to benefit from that.LBM: March, 2005

Hi all been keeping track of my recorded letters informing of my DMP, some delivered some not!
I got a lovely e-mail from citi cards thanking me for my cheque which will be credited to my egg accountare citi cards related to egg?
I'm also a bit stuck.... Just in the process of moving bank accounts over to Co op from A&L but the essential direct debits havent been transferred yet! I dont want to cancel them as most go out on the 1st and wheels will be in motion to claim them, don't want to miss a mortgage payment, but A&L are going to be part of my DMP. I have kept their DMP notification letter and was going to send it as soon as payments have gone out, but then was worried that they can re-call them to cover overdraft? Am I better off ringing mortgage people and paying over the phone and cancelling D/D?
Thanks
