So how do you know about it now? Give us a link to this information or stop making statements that you cannot back up.Unlike you i have a life and cannot sit around posting on here all day.The initial draft is in circulation with a few amendments to be added over the next 4-6 weeks and there is to be an article on this on sky news in late july. There are doing a feature on cold callers like people who leave catalogues and also bogus charity workers. One particular double glazing company will be the main topic of the feature.Gordon brown is going to use this in a political slant leading into a much bigger topic mid-july onwards.0

If I want to know how to run a business and be successful I will seek out those that have been successful in the business for advice and support. These are the people that have made it and the people that know that what they are talking about.
I wouldn't ask someone who has failed their driving test to teach me to drive would I. I would be wasting my time and money. I would seek out a competent driving instructor with the proper training and experience to teach me to drive. Why then would I act on advice from someone who failed at Kleeneze? The same principle applies in everything you want to learn.
I tried to learn to play the guitar when I was younger but I gave up when it got too difficult. That doesn't mean that I would advise anyone never to play the guitar. I gave it up when it got too hard instead of sticking at it like I should have done. The truth is I didn't want it badly enough to work as hard as I needed to to succeed.Caroline73 wrote: »I don't have a problem with MLM, if it's done properly.
For the record, I have done Kleeneze so know what I am talking about.0

You really gave that a shot then! How can you even think that you are qualified to make this statement if you didn't even get as far as putting your catalogues out?
That's like saying that your new car doesn't work before you've even put the keys in the ignition.
Oh and not a bit like MLM. It is MLM!The problem is the amount of internal competition from existing Kleeneze reps, around here anyway.
I looked at doing it about 4 years ago, I got as far as paying for the catalogues then changed my mind.
The van driver who collected my catalogues to return to Kleeneze told me that he regularly delivered and re-collected catalogues all round my area from disgruntled potential Kleeneze reps!
 A bit like MLM really.0

Come back to me in 3 years when you have won awards for sales figures, have a succesful downline and have been on the travel incentives and I'll discuss success with you then.0

I'm not saying you should buy from the catalogue. What I was saying was that those who are advocating banning catalogue distribution will deprive some people of perhaps the only opportunity they have to earn an honest living at the moment. If you want to buy your products from Wilkinsons buy them from Wilkinsons. I am sure you will find stuff on sale in Wilkinsons that is cheaper elsewhere. I have discovered that Kleeneze is like Marmite, some people love it and some people hate it. I love Marmite by the way but hate parsnips, they make me feel sick. Would I stand up and say "I don't like Parsnips therefore it should be banned and to hell with those people that like it." Of course not, that would be ridiculous and unreasonable. People here are saying "I don't like Kleeneze therefore it should be banned and to hell with all those that do like it". You have a choice when the catalogue comes through the door. You can look at it if you want to. You can buy from it if you want to. You can choose not to look at it at all and throw it straight back out your door or even throw it in the bin. If you think that it's overpriced tat then fine, you are free to think that but I don't understand how you can think that because this is your view that it is or should be everyone else's view. People are perfectly capable of making their own decision what to buy, where to buy it from, and what price they are willing to pay for it. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything from anyone. My customers choose to buy from their own free will, something that people such as yourself and others would seek to deny them.
I value Martin Lewis's opinion, but I am sure that he would never insist that his is the only opinion worth a salt. I read Martin's opinion on most things but don't always follow his advice. Why? Because I can. I am an adult capable of forming my own opinions.
Giving the catalogues for free? I ran an MLM business a few years ago that was free to join, all marketing materials were provided free of charge, if I asked for them. I did alright for a while, then I ordered 10,000 free of charge cards to promote my business, when it rained I didn't put them out, in fact, I started putting them out only when I felt like it, after all I hadn't paid for them so what was I going to lose. I still have 5,000 left and keep meaning to throw them away, the business has dwindled. If I'd paid £200 for these cards you can be damn sure I would have been out in all weathers putting them out, after all I would have had a major incentive, an investment to recoup.Caroline73 wrote: »Why is this relevant? It doesn't make me anymore inclined to buy overpriced stuff I can get in Wilkinson's for half the price.
If Kleeneze were so sure that people can make money from it, why don't they give people the catalogues for free?0

I'll look forward to that.Caroline73 wrote: »Come back to me in 3 years when you have won awards for sales figures, have a succesful downline and have been on the travel incentives and I'll discuss success with you then.0

steamdan, I admire you for your dedication, but please do not give up your day job nor listen to all those higher than you, all they are doing is lining their own pockets and your a mere pawn. I have been there we did it for over 2 years, but realised that although we could earn enough to live on the hours were imense and it wasnt giving us enough time with our family.
Give it a go, but ignore all those promises of holidays etc as its very unlikely they will happen, saying that if you just want an extra income and your prepared to walk the streets u will without a doubt be able to do that.0

You can tell when someone knows that they have lost an argument when they start hurling unsubstantiated slurs on the character of a person that they don't even know. Have I hurled personal insults at any of you? NO I HAVEN'T. I have replied with dignity and respect for your opinion. You have a right to your opinion and I have a right to oppose it but I have not and will not stoop to hurling personal insults and wild slurs on the characters of people I do not know simply because I do not agree with them. As for the use of emoticons I fail to see what is the slightest bit funny about this comment and how it can be taken as anything other than a slur on my character. Frankly, it says more about you than it does about me!
For the record I have a customer base of some 80 people, all of which are perfectly sound of mind, i.e. not vulnerable, and only 2 of which are elderly.BargainGalore wrote: »Perhaps he cant do that he ain't qualified:D perhaps he prefers ripping elderly customers off with over priced poundshop goods 0 0

Dan, there are some people that are never going to be convinced and will slag things like KZ, Betterware and even Avon. There is no point arguing with them, you obviously have faith in yourself, and I really admire that, so your time may be better spent working on your business than trying to talk to people that don't want to listen.
 Good luck with it0

To start with, I just want to say that whilst I firmly believe that everybody IS entitled to their own opinion, the way that some of you have been voicing that opinion is just uncalled for and very hurtful. Of course you're entitled to dislike Kleeneze, MLM companies etc but that does NOT mean that you need to be vicious toward Kleeneze Distributors.
If you actually bothered to read the first post in this thread before spotting the word Kleeneze and deciding to flame this thread then you'll have realised that this thread started with somebody who wanted advice, tips etc on their Kleeneze business. What is wrong with that?
How would you all feel if you wanted serious advice on something and all you got was flaming from people you don't know because they disagreed with your career choice? I think that perhaps if you don't have anything helpful or constructive to say then you shouldn't bother to say anything at all.
Dan, best of luck to you in your new venture Success' of 2012:-Debts:Student Loans: £28,7580 Success' of 2012:-Debts:Student Loans: £28,7580
