Can you still get Freesat and does sky+ work with it?

If you do and you cancel your subscription, the card will revert to a Free to View card which gives you these channels from FreesatfromSky. You will lose your recording facilities on the box.
Non subscribers can pay £10/month to use the recording facilities.

Has anybody actually done this? I am try to decide on which way to go as I'm on a 20% pay cut at present and though I have downgraded to just the basic sky package @ £18.50/month I don't think this represents good value for money. But I love Sky+ so I am trying to work out if I should bin sky altogehter and get the Humax HDR or pay £10 for sky+?

Bin Sky and get a Humax PVR. Once you've paid for that you will be saving £222 a year on your Sky sub.
Pointless to pay £120 a year just to use a Sky+ box which does nothing a PVR can't do.

In the end i have decided to keep my Sky+ as her indoors won't let me splash out £250 on the humax so I phoned sky to cancel and they have given us 25% off for 6 months. Not the best deal I know, but at least I can still record 2 channel on the sky + and watch a recorded show. As soon as the sky+ box breaks and lets face it they at not the reliable (we are on 3rd in 4 years) I'll jack in Sky and then get the Humax but it will take me 19 months before I will start saving money.
