    less than 3 minutes of looking

    unfortunatly that doesn't help because it is a problem with my laptop, not with the printer and as i said i don't want to delete all the pending documents, so just wondered if you knew what i could do?
    i know its not a fault with the printer as my other laptop prints fine

    I have asked SEVERAL questions and not got a reply...so without that info...unfortunately, I don't know in which direction to point you:confused:

    sorry, i didn't think you realised that it wasn't the printer that was at fault.
    what is os?
    how do i know what driver the printer is on,
    sorry i have no ideas about computers

    I have no idea what is IN the links....I certainly don't have time to read all about some-one else's printer

    google what is os and you will know
    google find printer driver and you will know

    the google and find What driver you SHOULD have for your OS and more than likely you will find out they are different, and that is where the problem is


    You could always check things like your USB is working, by trying something else in it, and also trying your printer in a different USB port and see if that makes a difference

    I am trying to guide you in the right direction....as I have stated before I have never seen one of those printers, but the solutions tend to be generic....but any further queries would probably be better aimed at a different forum....after doing your research

    Ok VC, I'm ready to try this again.

    First things first.........system restore. I now can't restore earlier than 23rd June. Ive googled to see how to get around this, but I don't think that I can. Is there a way? I don't think theres any point going any further until I restore back to sometime in May?

    OS usually stands for operating system , what you are running on your pc = me/xp/vista/ , you need to know what OS you have as the drivers will probably differ for each OS

    I'm not very techie...but I'm on XP...when I do system restore it says what would you like to do? ...restore to earlier point( radio button next to it) then under neath create restore point ( radio button next to that) I check the 'create' radio button and then type in ..say..30 May 2009 for example....then click' home' and click the radio button next to restore to earlier point and the 30 May 2009 is added to the choice...hope this helps...

    If your system restore has been turned off, or limited to very few, it looks like you will be unable to do it...maybe m4rtin can help...he had the same issue:beer:

    Still has :rolleyes: All me ghosts are saying they are corrupt :o Don't believe it but haven't got time to figure out what's wrong. (I think I grabbed wrong version of Bart) I can still print on other lappy's via the duff PC so no rush........ I have restored from this backup before so it did work but with missus still not well haven't got the inclination after getting home from work, cooking washing up, bathing/getting 5 year old in bed etc to dedicate much time when it's not a showstopper....Sorry don't have a technical answer but without a restore point I don't think VC's method will work for me.....

    Symptom on main PC with FF3 is goes though motions installs printer (Yours VC and theirs) then says loading frontdoor etc in status bar, then briefly says 'Done' then goes back to saying loading frontdoor etc this goes on for a few mins then says problem installing printer (No !!!!!! Sherlock :rotfl:) IE7 similar in that it eventually times out
