hi , thanks for you reply

I don't have a proper job as you put it , and jewellery I really like as it my hobbie

As other people have said there are going to be costs associated with selling jewellery for a company.

If you make jewellery yourself there are lots of places you can sell it, but it is not a quick money spinner. It takes time to build up contacts and get a following. I think the only way to make a quick buck with handmade jewellery is if you already have a lot of supplies and can make a lot of items quickly and can find somewhere to sell them for free.
  • I am confused, for someone so worried about getting into debt, you really can't afford to be that choosy. I work full time and also do Avon, I have debts and I would much rather be home doing something else. Most things will take need start up cost, unless you are talking about a normal job (office work etc) I can't see how anyone can help you on here if you are so set on a jewellery company with no start up costs.
    Avon Rep

    C8 - £417.09, C9 - £613.14:jC10 - £378.18
    C11 - £301.72, C12 - £284.92, C13 - £220.14,
    C14 - £194.36, C15 - £300.91

As someone that makes and sells their own jewellery, i would have to say that if someone came to me, wanting to sell my jewellery for me, then I would have to ask for the 'wholesale' value of the jewellery upfront, as I cannot afford to risk someone 'running off' with it. I do have some items at one place on a sale or return basis, but there is a cast iron contract between us, and I have to say that I know the person and so there is a little more trust there.

I just wouldn't feel comfortable with handing part of my stock over to someone that I didn't know in the hope that they could sell the stuff, or get me orders for more. And with no money changing hands up front.

I am not saying that you are not trustworthy, but I would have to protect myself and my stock before i could consider anything like that.

    hi , thanks for replying

I have look at mystery shopping , but they only pay out £10 which is nothing to me , sorry but as I said I need some cash very soon or I'm going to end up in debt !
you can earn a lot more than this from mystery shopping. This month I am hoping for £200. Plus dependant upon jobs you choose there are perks. For example in last few weeks I have had meals out (for which you are reimbursed) and had to buy items in stores where I have chosen what I want - in last month £40 worth- so for example this can cut down some of your day to day expenses.

If you really need money I would try this and not be so fussy. Otherwise why not take an early morning cleaning job or bar/night club work if you do not have kids to look after.

So if you havent a job whats to stop you doing Bettaware, Avon. etc. In an ideal world we would all like our hobbies to be our jobs. I get the impression that you just want to do what you want to do and you wont settle for anything less. youre too fussy, lots of us in the real world have to do jobs that we dont want to do, like you not wanting to trail round with catalogues, but needs must and so we have cleaners, binmen, sewage workers, don't you think those people would much rather be at home making model cars or painting pictures.

Its not going to happen unless you lower your sights.
try McDonalds if your desperate not to get into debt.

I am offended by this post , you have posted !

when I said jewellery comany , I meant jewellery jobs ( yes as in a real job!!!!!!,) or comanys , gee stop pick on me I only ask for advice , and not to shouted at by people like you , it people like you who make me depressed (yes , I do suffer from depression!!) , you try live on a low to no income and seaching for job everyday , and seeing there's no jobs
