The couple with the bath... banker and solicitor or stockbroker couple. All they seemed to do was buy top-end stuff for it then disappear off-site. Glum faces at £495K valuation, which would have put them £13K ahead (without selling costs.)

"I'd do another. Interior design is my passion." - the other glorying about interest rates being low in recession (neglecting the opposite reaction being capital values plummeting) - .... you're going to get an education.

The other couple just as idiotic for not cutting and running with possibly a £100K-£150K or more profit (can't remember) - and deciding to rent it.

Well, we knew you'd give us the low down, see.;)

I was actually looking forward to your comments on this pair of muppets. From what I saw, their wonderful design skills enabled them to create, among other things, a shower for anorexic gnomes. Mind you the production team missed out on a trick there, as Beeny's 'accident' with the shower could so easily have led to a wet T-shirt...........

By the look of it, they are still desperate to rent the place out, having pooh-poohed any suggestion that they might cut & run. It had all been so much effort for such a small return, despite the fact that they'd hardly been there during much of the build.

Final words of the daft arty bimbo were to the effect that: 'We'll just sit and wait for prices to rise again.'

The sad thing is, that might happen sooner than many of us wish, bearing in mind the location.

The couple who decided to keep the house and rent it out made me laugh when she said i know what i want, im a interior designer and we will do it again:rolleyes:

Her eyes told you the story, she looked like she was going to burst into tears, and now its on with seven agents

no wonder her eyse were filling up.

Stupid bathroom in the cottage. Normal bath and a proper separate shower would have been so much better. I couldn't have bought a done up house that I'd need to change the bathroom of.
    Silly people.

Still love the "but we've done this house, it's therefore so special that people will queue round the block to pay over the odds for it"

    NO THEY WON'T!!!

Checking 1 mile from their postcode, 3 or 4 pages of homes, with property-bee showing asking prices being slashed.

Problem is.. she wasn't. Beeny didn't think much of her bathroom choice. She was just another person who likes buying top-end stuff from high-end stores. She was actually a banker or stockbroker, or something similar... not a property-developer or interior designer.

Excuse my ignorance, but are there really people who would pay £1,300 rent for a 'designer' house?

Bet her partner wasn't too chuffed - wasn't he 'in' IT or something? I was laughing at his comment that the 'good' outcome of the recession was low interest rates. They'll really be in bother now as IRs are rising...

TBH, seeing has how peeps are utter amateurs and still manage something, I'm thinking how hard can property development be? I know it's radical, but ideas such as 'a plan', 'scale drawings' and 'project management' could be part of it.

Also, given that Google Sketchup is free, why don't these people model their 'designs' and see right away that only a child can use the shower. Numpties.
