Property Snakes and Ladders; 2009

Sarah Beeney's back with a new series of Property Ladder, except that this year it's called Property Snakes and Ladders. I'm obviously a very, very bad person because I am looking forward to this so much.:o It's on at 8pm next Tuesday.
For the last eight years, Sarah Beeny has been guiding budding property developers through the renovation game. Many failed to listen to her advice but often saw their bad decisions saved by a rising property market. But now with the housing market downturn, and lending still in crisis, there's never been a harder time to develop.
In tonight's first episode, applying for a mortgage isn't necessary when the bank of mum and dad can fund your development dreams. Back in 2007, when the property market was starting to show signs of a slowdown, Sarah met 29-year-old Rick Dickinson as he roped in his mum Margaret and dad Andy to help fund his renovation of an enormous four-bedroom Victorian terrace in Battersea, South London.
At the same time, 21-year-old Natasha Burr persuaded her mum Debbie to sell the family home and give her all the equity to bankroll her ambitious plan to transform a run-down bungalow into a family home. Sarah soon realises that both property novices have big problems with their plans. And as the downturn in the housing market starts to bite, it becomes a race to try and turn a profit when they're facing the prospect of making a loss.
Will they make the right decisions? And will those decisions be enough to save them from the biggest and quickest housing crash in living memory?

Cool, I always thought she seemed to be pretty on the ball from what I saw.. Always hilarious to see people not take her advice and do something stupid0

Yeah beeny is far more like-able than that kirsty allsop. Beeny seems like a businesswoman and is no doubt snappin up properties from distressed sellers as we speak.
So is the program from 2007 or do you think it will be a kind of flashback program "then and now"? I find these programs quite informative.
Must remember to sky+ - GracieP you are not alone!0 -
All we need now is for Krusty & Phil to come out of hiding and explain themselves to the millions they ripped off.Krusty & Phil Madoff, 1990 - 2007:
"Buy now because house prices only ever go UP, UP, UP."0 -

To be honest I don't understand why this comparison ever arises.
Sarah Beeny is a hard-nosed property developer. She can and has done the job herself (inluding the hands-on stuff like wiring, plumbing etc), is utterly realistic about the market & rarely speaks anything other than good sense.
Oh yes - & she's a total babe.
Kirsty Allsop is a pea-brained vested-interest merchant who has done nothing but blindly ramp property for years (televised ramping of any other asset class would result in prosecution incidentally). She doesn't have a clue & rarely speaks anything other than utter nonsense.
Oh yes - & she's a total pig.0 -
They are all in the property !!!!!! business together. I agree the comparison should never be made, they are like apples and oranges.
I share your hatred for krusty!0 -

http://www.propertyinvestmentproject.co.uk/blog/2007/05/22/the-sarah-beeny-breast-phenomenon/I monitor the incoming traffic to my site quite carefully; I can even see how people land on my page by the key phrases they type into Google. I can actually see this in “live” time. So if someone typed in “Sarah Beeny’s breasts” into Google and landed on my page right now, I would know about it.
The high volume of search terms that people typed in about Sarah Beeny and her breasts that landed on that article were unbelievable and strangely entertaining. And since I now rank for terms like “Sarah Beenys breasts” in Google, I was getting a lot of rather unusual traffic. My article doesn’t actually contain any nude pictures of Sarah, it only contains a link to someone else who has an obsession with her breasts, which also doesn’t contain any nude pictures of her.......
Here are some of the key phrases that some odd people typed into Google to land onto my page:
........Pretty unbelievable. I mean, who in their right mind would search for a phrase like, “Sarah beeny pokie nipples”0 -
to be honest the programme and herself play on them a bit, she always wears tank tops and tight tops, seriously sex sells, as evidenced by google ;P0

As a male viewer, I like itFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
