Ah yes, I forgot. Isn't this the show where she helps people tart up their houses instead of moving to a different one? My bad, not seen it.0 -
I think the show should change its format slightly - there should be a novice investor on one side and an experienced investor/builder or similar on the other side.
Not a competition BUT a chance to see the mistakes or successes (if possible) of both types of investors.
For example a classic mistake novices make is to let personal taste take over - which can cost thousands whereas pros are more likely to have a set formula.
It will also be more interesting to see the pros NOT take Beeney's advice and prove her wrong or vice versa.0 -

It was awful, although better than her out and out property ramping shows. The OH loved it predictably.
And I thought her and Phil had one not that long ago? And she's the conservatives property expert.... the list goes on and onFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

would you trust your partner to take a financial risk though? a lot of people let their partner destroy them financially and then the partner doesn't even stay around. at least your kids are always your kids.
hadn't that girl already made 100k from developing one house so it wasn't all her mum's money. and the bloke was putting up half the money for the other property (so he was bankrolling his parents as much as vice versa).
i think the bank of mum and dad thing was editorially emphasised (twisted?) for effect. i can spot tv spin a mile off as i do it myself. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -
i feel sorry for them. the young lass seemed incredibly go-getter-ish.
i suspect however that she will still do well as she seems to have a good attitude.
Well, her new venture is a property buying service for people too busy to look for homes by themselves. She will use all her experience drawn from months working as an estate agent to find you the house of your dreams.

That's not her - it was just a joke from HPCpoppy100 -
I enjoyed the show. It was always going to be tough - they bought at the top of the market and planned lengthy work with major structural changes. I think I would have decided to do a quick refurb and try to sell them on for a small profit or simply without making a loss. Instead they seemed to think that their vision would be so special that it would command a premium over the ceiling price for their area, or that the market would start to rise again. Both a bit greedy and niave imho.
Although the rather irritating 21 year old had made £100k on a previous project, I suspect much of that was made due to the rising market. The guy and his parents didn't really seem to be on the same wavelength, so their project was always going to be hard work. I can't think of anything worse than being responsible for such a large amount of your parents money.
Yeah, Beeney did look pregnant at the end. Number 3 I think.0 -
shame i missed those big episodes...
