elle, did you start with hand manual or electric pump? I got the little bit that there was by hand, but am now not getting anything with hand or manual pump. The electric one in the hospital made my nipple bleed :(

Started by hand, then started using my TT CTN hand pump on about Day 6 (I think it was about then - I moved up here on Day 5 and didn't use it downstairs on maternity), then the Medela Symphony double electric pump on about Day 14. They said I had to master it by hand first before using a pump but not sure I could [STRIKE]be bothered to[/STRIKE] go back to by hand now!

Try the by hand with hot flannels after a bath/shower way first before going for the pump again - I know you'll want to get straight up and go to the hospital but if you've got time to kill before going to the midwifes', try having a soak in the bath with good ol' Radox ;) I do remember going back to hand expressing a few times after using the hand pump cos it was easier.

Don't know what to do about the bleeding. I figured I'd ask about that if it came up and luckily it hasn't (yet?).
