I work in GP practice and we have agreements with certain countries as to which patients we see on the NHS. People from countries not covered have to pay for a private consultation about £35 plus a private prescription charge. I think the NHS is far too lenient with people that we provide care to - it drives me mad when patients bring members of their family over from countries such as Jordan/Iran etc to have surgery over here because it's too expensive in their own country.

I know the feeling Glam i hate it when patients come in with family members and cant understand why they cant get free dental work as the family member is on benfits as they think you dont have to pay for nhs work :mad: Then you get a lovley oap in that has to pay because they are not getting the right pension and have to save up for treatment and dont say word :mad: :mad:
