Morning!
God, why did I decide to come back into work today and tomorrow?
My maternity trousers feel really tight and I let the elastic out! I've not worn them in over 2 weeks so have def grown!!
Work want to talk to me about my maternity letter and KIT days - I've just been reading up about them and not sure if I want to use them. Work are acting like I have to but I know I don't!
I think that if you work a KIT day then you get 4 day's SMP plus 1 Day at whatever rate you and your employer agree on. If I got full pay for that day it would work out an extra £75 (before tax, NI and pension) but I'd probably need to find childcare unless OH was off! So probably not even worth it!
MM - I am thinking of you and can't wait for BS and pics!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Good luck for today Moneymaker.
I haven't been reading for the last couple of days as I have been completely exhausted, and not up to it, so apologies if I've missed any big news. There are far too many posts to catch up on! Has anyone else found that they have completely lost their appetite in the last few months of pregnancy? I'm nearly 25 weeks now and for the last week or so have been barely able to face food other than toast or cereal?0 -
Glam - KIT days aren't worth it for me. I work part time and would end up with an extra £20ish for working a KIT day - and like you said that's before childcare! That would be £15 for me so would be working for about £1 an hour!
My boss has just emailed me with details of my Annual Leave - 10 days more than I thought I had! SO that should give me a date of return of 12th April 2010. I was thinking about saving a week for easter, but my new entitlement would start at the beginning of April wouldn't it? So I would be able to take some out of that.
Good luck MM! In a few hours you'll have your little bundle!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
Nicki - I'm not eating any less than usual (unfortunately!) and am 26 weeks. Sometimes I don't feel like food but once I cook it and start eating it, I generally wolf it down!!!
Pinkpig - I know they seem like a good idea but at the same time, what's an extra £50 (which is would be after deductions!). I HATE the deduction part of my pay slip - always over £800! At least I will have a good pension and am slowly paying off my student loan.
I just found this site - it's aimed at employers but if you know your wages and stuff then you can calculate exactly how much SMP you will be entitled to whilst you are off. I have been pleasantly suprised!!

What site is it? Im still confussled on the whole idea of me not being entitled to SMP or MA!
had to go for a "finding my way back to work" interview yesterday with the social security office, even though i am classes as still employed and have a job to go back to. apparently, its a compulosry part of claiming for income support (which i was advised to do due to not bein entitled to smp or ma!) its wick.Carla-Farla!!
