    Hello all!

    Things on my mind today:
    Is Mookie a mummy?
    Is MM crapping herself yet?
    Has Beenie's bar steward gone?

I'm OK, bit unhappy about MIL who is showing NO INTEREST in the baby now there is a possibility that it might not be growing properly - not even to see how the scan went. OH says she is just worried cos her other grandchild is severely autistic and 'she can;t cope with that again' but if the baby's is disabled she just blooming well WILL have to cope won't she?! It makes me so cross and sad all at the same time.

Also battling JSA (see thread on benefits board) and go to see Gp later today for general checkup.

OH did the bedroom wallpaper at the weekend and it looks fabulous, like a boutique hotel bedroom. V posh and lovely.

This week I am going to make a cover for my sofa - the material cost me £190 reduced in London at the weekend so have to make sure I don;t mess it up! I've only ever made a skirt before!

    hugs to everyone. xx

Tia, when DS1 needed more nursery and I couldn't afford it. As he'd been seen and assessed by loads of people Social Services paid for half so he could go more. Think it was the Educatinal Psychologist who put me onto them. X

Skinty, my DD2 didn't grow well, I spent 3 months on bed rest in hospital. She is still small now at 19, works for the courts/probation service and is on £17k a year. Now DS1 was an 8lb baby and he is autistic, and lovely BTW. Size is no indication of a disability! Oh yeah, she's really pretty too!!!

But at least his nursery is amazing with him. He has been tehre 5 full days a week paid for by the college but as I'm not going back next year, it's down to the government funded sessions and I know he will do so much better with the 5 full days, this year has been proof of that. But I can't afford £90 a week.

    Hi Tia

I know you are in Scotland and things are a bit different sometimes there, but I wonder whether you might be able to get full time funding for your little one anyway based on his special needs? If he's been there for a year, and its been good for his progress, you might be able to argue a its doing him good, b to take it away would cause him to regress and c that with a young baby and a special needs child, you as the carer need him to have it.

Do you have a sw on the children with disabilities team? I know they are usually as much use as a chocolate teapot  (I'm still waiting to hear whether my DD will get any time over the holidays in a special needs playscheme when I'll be 36 weeks pregnant  with a history of giving birth twice at 38 weeks) but its where I'd probably start.

I'm not worried personally. We get what we get and I love this baby whether it is disabled or not. I used to work in disability charities and I've seen very disabled people, and know they can still have great lives.

What bothers me is that now there is a possibility the baby won't be 'perfect' MIL is not interested any more.

It makes me feel that if she isn;t interested now then she can stay away once it's born, because her loving it should not be conditional on it ticking the boxes on her mental perfection checklist.

I now hope the baby is late coming so she is on holiday when it is born so she misses out! I know that's a horrid way to think :o

I just don;t understand why she is being like this? My parents are excited regardless, and it is their first grandchild.

    Hi everyone

Hope the !!!!!! has gone beenie :)
I have spent the morning doing up a changing box for downstairs so that we can do quick and pain free nappy changes both upstairs and down and have got all my bottles and steraliser sitting ready to go, so all Chris has to do is add water and pop in the microwave for me coming home. Have also built up the bouncer and it is sitting in the corner of the sitting room looking all lovely :D

I think I am ready to be a mummy again  Only 2 days to go ..........

I was hoping you could offer some advice Nicki! (and thank you Tara too, I now know that there is a way to get it done).

I will be making those points today (hadn't thought of regression, but very good point). There must be some way of getting it. After all, it would still work out more cost effective for them than a special needs nursery (which would do him more harm than good).

No social worker. Last time I saw an education psychologist was...21st June 2007 at his early years forum (he was 2, early years has since been scrapped) and he was sent 2 afternoons a week to the 2-3 nursery. Ha, reading his letter his review date was Easter 2008!

What else should I be asking today? *panicing now*

Oh Skinty, my MIL was opposite, no interest in DS2 till he was 'special' with his 'little problem'. Think it's just MIL's, they are weird!

Oh, I may be one of those in years to come!

Skinty, lucky MIL, knowing perfect people. I've never met one. Sounds like my MIL, she doesn't do girls, therefore I'm over the moon to be having one!

Tia, what do you do now, make some noise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MM, scary when it gets close isn't it. I'm fed up of people saying 'oh you're a pro' and 'you must just pop them out'. Still hurts and still scares the carp out of me. XXX
