That sounds unfair to me elastigirl. Can you not book your holiday for wheneverr suits you, and if it turns out that this is on one of the weeks that your in laws are away, then gran will have to go into residential respite care if she needs a lot of help, or have a home help come in daily if she's a bit more independent. At the end of the day, she is your in laws responsibility more than she is yours, particularly if they are claiming carers allowance for her, or if she is getting attendance allowance, and whilst you may be more than happy to help out with her when you can do so, it isn't fair that you should be forced to do so, to the detriment of your own family, when there are others around to do so. It would be a different matter if your inlaws had consulted you as to the dates, and you had agreed them in advance, but its not on for them to dictate to you.0

Elasti, what dates have you been looking at?Too many children, too little time!!!0

Scan and supermarket done, and everything is just fine. I had the strep swab taken today in case I pop early, and the doctor had the scanner so low down it was really painful. But he got to see all the head so she isn't quite locked and loaded just yet.
OH's phone kept ringing while we were there and again at the supermarket, but he wasn't answering to conserve the battery. It turns out that the landlords have organised a full service of the gas in the building and require someone from each apartment to be here from 8-8 today and tomorrow, and we have no hot water. Legally they're required to make an appointment with us.
OH is supposed to work tonight, but I have plans that it took me two weeks to organise so he has to stay here. Then tomorrow I have a morning meeting, followed by a baby shower (!) followed by meeting a friend who's just got accidentally pregnant and is panicking a bit, followed by coming back home to have people over in our newly tidy and almost-done living room.
I'm so annoyed and I have no idea how I will manage without a warm shower. I am going to be so stinky and horrible tomorrow and I wanted to look my best. Washing my hair in cold water is going to be nasty.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
Pint of diluting juice and 2 paracetamol swallowed. I have one of those headaches coming on and I feel like crap.0
-
Sugar - I've just received my strep test kit to do myself, I need to tell midwife actually and ask her to do it, were your doctors happy to do, or did you have to ask.. mymidwife hasnt even mentioned group strep B might be to early though.
Also Im going to see midwife next week wk 23 and I need to get the form to give to my employer, also very happy as hubbys work do the childcare voucher scheme and I think they might be of benefit, has anyone else used these?Received £2,626.00 in PPI -2013:j

well it's too late it's all sorted now, we can harly go and book a holiday knowing it is when they are away. As it is i have had to say to dh he can't pick them up from the airport as i have booked a one night city break away in a travelodge, At least we have that which will be nice but hardly a holiday.
We are looking at the last week in july so it's really pushing it for time, every where is booked up now and too much money. one place just got back to me and said they have a room spare we would be £300 and my ds would be £200 for 4 days am i just not with the times but £200 for a 4 year old:eek:This is my signature!0 -
Morning all
did ppl see about the woman who died from swine flu? I am usually v relaxed and not anxious about the whole PG thing but that did give me pause for thought as they mentioned the higher risk to PG women. Her baby was born at 29 wks - that's 2 off from where I am. God knows how the partner and family must be feeling and how it'll be for the baby as s/he grows up.
sorry to be so miserable - will cheer up soon I hope!
Jillie: we have limited space (in the boot) and bought the bugaboo bee as the baby attachmenty bit isn't a separate carry cot (like the icandy) but all folds up easily.MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!
