Well done on picking a name Searching! Jayden, I like it and it suits you ;)

I'm not even attempting to use reusable nappies, I can't keep up with the washing as it is. Plus, with DS2 still in nappies it just seems like too much stress tbh :o

    Any news from Skinty?

My little girl weighs 3lb, her legs have gotten longer (so she will be tall like her brothers) and everything seems fine. I'm now on to fortnightly scans just to check everything then to day care and see my midwife in the weeks in between. My blood results are not just good, they are excellent apparently. The uric acid level goes by your gestation, so they would be happy with a level of 0.29, mine is 0.26 which is excellent. Too much uric acid in the blood is toxic and it's the main one they check for with PIH and PE. Talked about induction if I need it and she says she is happy to induce me, but I will only be given one dose of prostaglandin pessary, then waters broken then syntocinon drip and closely monitored. Just like I was with DS1 then. But it should be ok as I have had one vaginal birth before. They have a VBAC specialist up there who talks to patients who have had previous c sections to try and talk them into a VBAC, it was decided that I wouldn't need to see her.... :rotfl:Consultant is trying to be optimistic by putting the headaches down to miagraines :D

elasti, give them a ring if you're not going to see them soon and ask if you can collect it because the pack you get after the scan has the voucher for the pack i just collected today in it, aswell as a coupon for a free pack of 27 nappies from Tesco.

I have got to go back on the 8th of july so i think i will ask then for it.
Bit happier now i have had a rant that and the tea and bourbons have made be feel better. I just couldn't get over the man it had nothing to do with him, he wasn't with the kids playing football he should have kept his nose out.

Beenie - thanks for the warning. I'm going to check the vouchers as soon as they hand it to me!

lou - very cool! We might even end up in the same pre-natal classes! ;) Are you planning on having yours at St Thomas's? That's where all my stuff is based. My MW is based in Streatham, too.

Maisie was another name on our "long" list of names - we have very similar tastes in baby names!

Nanc - I do understand as I felt in a similar way (although it was only me, DH didn't mind ), not only about preferring a boy but also about only having one.

What helped me (after being initially upset) was thinking about the baby who I'd seen on the scan and how she wasn't anything to do with what I was feeling - it made me think about her coming into the world and not being what her mum wanted. Just thinking awful thought seemed to change my mindset and tbh the boy/girl thing doesn't really cross my mind any more (in fact if we did end up with a boy it'd be a huge shock!)

We then both quite consciously started talking about her and by her name too - once you do that it starts to feel natural as if you were always having her. She becomes a real person who is just as important as any boy (it's much easier to feel upset at the 'idea of girl' than an actual little girl IYSWIM)

    HTH

Edit: it must've worked cos when some friends came round with their little boy and made a sniffy comment about girls we didn't say anything but we were both mentally defending her! :D
